Comfort Inn Brownsville I-40

great place for an overnight stay on a road trip

Reviewed By Lacey M

The hotel is convenient to the interstate and has ample parking. The property is well-maintained and the front desk staff were courteous, welcoming and professional both at check-in and check-out. My room was exceptionally clean, and the bed and couch were both very comfortable. The desk space was ample for working and the wi-fi worked fine. The desk, bedside and reading lights provided excellent illumination which seems to be becoming rare in a lot of hotels. My room was on the first floor near the entrance, but the soundproofing was so good that I never heard any noise at all from the lobby or breakfast area or from the outside driveway. I brought my own breakfast but viewed the breakfast lay-out and it looked just fine for getting another day on the road going. The coffee was excellent. All in all an excellent choice for an overnight stay on a road trip and a great value for the money. Highly recommend!

Good stop between TX and IN while avoiding Memphis

Reviewed By clsfrisco

Dog friendly stop halfway on our journey reasonably priced and clean especially with gas prices as they are. Feel safer here than in Memphis. Very comfortable (soft) bed. We did miss the breakfast. No signage or advisement by clerk as to the schedule.

I stopped there because of the price and found that the clerk was also one of the owners and had just taken over the place. She was very nice and said they would have the lobby open after this covid thing. The bed was comfortable and everything else was alright.

Good value for a quick stop

Reviewed By pwm1031

We were driving to Memphis and it was too far to go in one night, so I researched a bit and took a chance on a budget hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. We checked in after midnight and found the young lady at front desk to be very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was on the back corner of the first floor. There was minimal road noise and the room was clean and smelled fresh. One of the best things I noticed about this hotel is instead of having carpet, which can get musty and old, they have faux wood floors. I believe more budget hotels need to do this, especially those with a pool. Breakfast was as expected for Econo Lodge, nothing special, but just fine to start the day on the road. I was pleased to find they had a waffle maker. Overall, I give this hotel five stars in comparison to other budget accommodations. As they say, "you get what you pay for", but in this case, I think it was better than that. I would recommend this for a safe, comfortable place to stop.

Run away

My husband managed to get about 3 hours of sleep in between bed bugs eating him up and moving rooms every time he found bugs. Refunded the next morning and hauled out! He asked for the manager and was told he doesn't come in and they refused to let us speak to him.
