Wonderful view and friendly staff

Reviewed By TravelingCelt

I stayed two nights here in a lake view room. The staff were very friendly and the view, from both the dining terrace and our balcony, was superb. The room itself was quite basic but adequate for a short trip. I'd have preferred the option to have a room with a sofa, rather than an additional and unused single bed which made it a bit crowded. Dinner was enjoyable due to the aforementioned view. The food isn't the most imaginative, but if you order carefully you can have a tasty meal. The grilled prawns were large well prepared. The Summer Truffle Pasta and the Summer Truffle Salad were both very nice. Next time I'll try some of the Black Truffle dishes. Less good was the grilled slice of lamb, which was a bit served with a thin sauce, carrot mouse and and huge mound of chips. Steam potatoes (which were served with the prawns) would have been a better option.

Auberge du Lac

The windows and terraces at the Auberge du lac open out onto the blue water of St Croix lake. It is a beautifull restfull sight ! You can feel the gentleness of Provence around you and the magic of the grand canyon close by .... In the auberge itself, there is an atmosphere of good living: warm welcome, the provencale house specialities, the attractive rustic guest rooms overlooking the lake and the panoramic dinner room .

Charming spot to enjoy the lake!

Excellent personal service despite language barrier. Rooms were clean and sheets smelled extremely fresh. Towels were soft, bathrooms were amazing. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Delighted with how hardworking and kind the very small staff was. Cats roamed in and out of the quaint hotel but were never a bother. Highly recommend.

Truffle and Puppy Ranch

Reviewed By Jack M

Domaine Majastre Stay at Domaine Majastre if you like: big ranches, truffles, sparkling pools, French folks, truffles, puppies, great food, stunning lake and truffles. The staff are charming and accommodating, but speak almost no English. Like in Colorado, the ranch hands tolerate you. They hunt truffles with ducks and dogs, and you will eat your fill and then some. No wifi, but that’s a feature.

Camping Les Restanques

Nothing special

Reviewed By philygee86

4 of us spent two nights here, tent camping. A few things that you have to be aware of: The tent spots are not very private, separated by short fences and grape vines (about waist-high). No picnic tables on the tent spots, so come prepared with your own table. No toilet seats or toilet paper in the washrooms. We rented a fridge during our stay. It was delivered to us with no adapter to plug into the power box. We had to go collect it ourselves from the reception desk, and then charged when we returned it on our way out because "we didn't think to bring a power adapter of our own". This left a really bad impression of the place. This is an adequate place to just drop your tent and spend most of your days exploring the region. But I would not recommend for a very nice camping experience.

So glad we discovered this campsite

We have just spent 8 nights at this campsite. The management team were extremely friendly and helpful. We initially planned to stay for 3 nights and extended our stay for another 5 nights. The facilities were clean throughout our stay. The showers were powerful and there was a plentiful supply of hot water. We stayed in a motorhome however there are a number of newly built chalets on the site which look great. There are two separate paths which lead to the lake, one of which connects to the GR99 walking route to Bauduen which is a lovely Provençal village. We also cycled to the village to buy bread and essentials. We would happily return to this site which is run by a hardworking young team.
