Stayed here for a couple nights in the bunkhouse cabin. Though the place was clean, the bunkhouse was tight space for three adults. There was a queen bed and a bunk bed right next to it. Barely had any room to navigate or place luggage. Felt very confining! Otherwise the bathroom shower had great water pressure and was nice to have a small kitchenette but for us, it was very cramped and didn’t feel very comfortable due to the size. Probably better for a couple with one kid but that’s it. Location was good though.

Wonderful location with a lot of history. Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and Reno are all very close for day trips. The valley itself is absolutely beautiful. We are looking forward to a return visit in the future.

Great place to make family memories

Reviewed By Tour51976899391

We hosted our sons wedding rehearsal dinner here. It was fantastic. Steven and Traci made our event fantastic. I wish we would have booked to stay there for the weekend. We hosted 50 people for dinner and it was a lot of fun. They made sure we had plenty of room for family. Steve put out corn hole for us and at the end of the evening we roasted marshmallows around their amazing fireplace. We had family from newborn to 89s with walkers and everyone was comfortable. We rented a few rooms for family and regretted not renting more rooms for us.

Worst place we ever stayed!

Reviewed By kualalyn

We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults for 2 nights for a family wedding in the area. First of all it cost $700.00 for those 2 days then the room (fairly clean) but we could not even open the “electric” drapes because the mechanism was broken with exposed wires! Then we wanted ice - no machines or even a ice tray. We call the “desk” and they said there was no ice but tomorrow if and when the store opened we might be able to get some there. The store did not open until 11. There was a restaurant on the grounds but it only opened from 11-3 and only for a couple of choices of extremely expensive sandwiches that only contained 1/2 the ingredients as described. We travel extensively but have never stayed in a place that used to have a great reputation. Since the Welk family sold this it has totally gone to the dogs - I don’t think even dogs would want to stay there now. We are embarrassed because we suggested this place to our family. Never, NEVER would I recommend this place to anyone! Guess we should have complained when there but there was NOT A soul around. Please save yourself the headache and stay at a local casino/hotel as I now wish we had.

Good BUT.....

Reviewed By Neil M

a few minor things let this hotel/motel down.... The things that let it down in the room I stayed in : Only bedside light the other bedside light didn't give out much light & main lights were a bit to much for just sitting in room at night. Also only one plug socket on the same side of bed, phone/batteries had to be charged on floor nearby. There was no place to store luggage expect on floor in corner of room. The blind in room can't be opened without the whole neighbourhood being able to look in. The major problem with the room was the noisy bed metal bed-frame & base, every time i moved it creaked very loudly! All this being said, the room is spacious, bed was a good size, very clean and excellent bathroom. The major plus was all the amenities that come supplied, Coffee, Tea, snacks, shampoo etc. Also area was quiet and parking on-saite
