Kosaten

Reviewed By Prado4WD

Wow....just got home and had to write a review about how good our dinner at Kosaten was. If you want to try something different in central Hobart that is somewhat quirky, great value and excellent Japanese cuisine, then Kosaten is for you. The restaurant is easily found near the Hobart waterfront (at Castray Esplanade) and a just a short walk from the GPO / City Centre. Well patronised, not too noisey, orders taken via a tablet on your table (a child could easily manage it), food delivered on a train-like system and a great variety of meals, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommended.

Having recently been in Japan and being spoilt by having good sake, I'm now more often than not disappointed by the quality of sake served here. At RIN we enjoyed good, reasonably priced sake and very enjoyable food. We would definitely come back here. It was excellent Japanese food at affordable prices.

A lovely little restaurant that had the usual Japanese fare, but was pleasantly surprised to see that they also had a dedicated vegan menu. Lots of choice! We really enjoyed our bento box which included vegetarian spring rolls, teriyaki tofu, rice, salad and miso. Recommended.

Have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions and while it is located down a side street and a bit hard to find the first time you will certainly lock on the location to return.Staff very friendly and welcoming and obliging, food and service excellent and extensive menu. Décor very relaxing and you can also book individual rooms for groups which is a great idea.Very well pricedAbsolute must and I would suggest the best in the Hobart and surrounding area!

If you've had some good conveyor belt sushi and expect some decent, fresh seafood in Tasmania, Sush Track might be a bit of a disappointment. We ended up here on a Sunday - not the best day for a good selection of seafood - but dining options on Sunday nights in Tasmania are limited and you take what you can get.Ordering off tablets and getting food off a conveyor belt are all par-for-the-course these days - for folks not used to this, I'm sure it's all very novel. Prices can climb if you're not watching the colour of the plates you pick up and how your plates are starting to stack up. Actually, our bill was less than what I'd expected, but we weren't terribly hungry that night. What I don't get is how they can charge $2.50 for green tea and it not be free flow? When I asked the waitress - she said she'd be able to refill my cup with hot water - fine, if they'd put in a decent amount of matcha to begin with, but what I had from the first pour was barely a dusting. Hardly green tea.Bit of a rip off and not recommended.Hi,Thank you so much for your detailed and honest feedbackWe have only recently begun trading on Sundays and this was our first for the holiday season and so busy it caught us somewhat unprepared! We would like to apologise and hope you will give us another chance. We will do our best to improve our service and we take your comments on board as we do so.Happy Easter!Brodie &the Sush Track Team
