Tucanos Brazilian Grill

Tucanos was located in the Riverwood Shopping Center in Provo but moved to University Place in Orem a year ago. Fortunately, nothing has changed about the food and service--only more space in the new location. Meat is king here, but there are lots of other options, including an amazing salad bar. It costs $$$ but is worth every dollar!

The manager, Carter, was so nice to work with. He made lots of calls (including to the owner) and accommodations for us. We ended up not having the party and he was very kind. Offered some recommendation for the future.

This small, simple place with crowded seating at plastic tables is extremely inexpensive. Four of us had “dinners” for about $25 total. The food is marginal. “Corn tamales” are essentially cornbread. The papusas are barely worth their cheap price. Staff mainly speaks Spanish. The restaurant does not serve alcoholic beverages (“Sangria” is a sweet, fizzy soda in a bottle), but it is open on Sundays (unlike most restaurants in Provo). The inside temperature was hot, perhaps to make you feel that you were in Central America.

We were referred here couple of years ago when they were newly opened and were very pleased. Decided to stop in again along our travels through Provo, and we're disappointed. Service slow, food so-so, prices up. All we could think of: All these restaurants and this is what we chose? Nearly left but courtesy demanded we stay and not happy we did as food simply not worth it.

Chili Relleno was authentic and cooked perfectly. My frinds ordered tacos, enchiladas and chicken burrito. Salsa and chips were amazing. Chips were homemade and had light salt which is something you don't get very often. Salsa was also homemade and very tasty. Fast service for lunch the place was full.
