So dirty

The tub was clogged and would not drain. Mold under bath mat. Other people's hair in the beds. Dust and dirt every where. Ac filter totally disgusting. The fort desk gut was completely rude. When I reported the issues the first desk man was very rude and told me I had to wait because maintenance was not there. I spent a 100 dollars a night and this place was a roach motel

Great Value Close to the Mountains

We decided at the last minute to go to Boone for the weekend and could not find a room anywhere for less than $500/night - even in the surrounding towns. We finally ran across this hotel in Wilkesboro which is about 32 miles from Boone and it was $209/night. The hotel is really clean, linens are bright white and fresh, rooms are larger than usual, and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is pretty standard fare. We would definitely stay here again.

Not Closed, Hopefully Being Renovated

Reviewed By WellINever

This is now a Red Carpet Inn. Sitting in Room 203 Sunday night, I googled it and was surprised to learn it's permanently closed. I got a Twilight Zone vibe, but my car wasn't the only one in the parking lot that night. It's across the street from the Hampton Inn. I wanted to see a movie at the Liberty Theater while I was in the area, and I gambled on paying half of the likely rate that night at the Hampton Inn. Yes, there appears to be renovation taking place on the property. (See photo of the backhoe.) Pros: Good water pressure and a good water heater. Microwave and refrigerator in room. Clean, bug-free linens and sofa. Being next door to a gas station makes it convenient to buy snacks, drinks. The parking lot was quiet overnight. The other guests appeared to be workers/laborers booked by their employers. Cons: New, flat-screen digital TV, but I couldn't watch for more than an hour. The screen displayed a message, "the signal has been interrupted." I finally gave up and just watched YouTube on my phone. I didn't try connecting to the hotel wifi, but I'm guessing it's provided by the cable company. Sp if the TV signal isn't reliable, why trust the wifi. No extra outlet to charge the cell phone. There are two outlets mext to the vanity, but the cell phone charger wouldn't remain plugged in. I finally found a spare outlet in the corner next to the couch, where the floor lamp was plugged in.
