Relaxing and enjoyable

Went with my daughter and a friend to walk in the sand. Though weather was high 60’s the sun was quite warm, had to take off my sweater. We enjoyed the swings, watching people playing volleyball and getting in the water. There’s a playground for the little ones. I love walking into all the shops, though a bit pricey. We had clam chowder in a bread bowl that was delicious at the Avila Market on Front Street. Though not always easy to find a parking space, but once you park you can walk to everything. We easily spent a few hours here at Avila Beach. I’ll be returning here again.

Avila La Fonda Hotel

Beyond expectations!!!

Beyond expectations! Incredible visit. This was our first stop on a drive up Hwy 1 - a trip for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Beautifully appointed and comfortable room with jacuzzi tub. Nice parking garage. Friendly staff. So much character with the Mission inspired decor. Very close to the beach. AND they feed you non stop! Welcome basket full of snacks. I was woken by the smell of the most delectable croissants. Then later in the day they treat you to nachos, beer, and Mexican Coke. Early evening they offer wine, cheese, chocolates, crackers and more. Then they top it all off with apple pie and ice cream at night. There was even a box of chocolates at check out. My husbands only complaint was that the shower heads were too low but he’s 6’4”. They were fine for me. Plus there were double shower heads. I just can’t say enough about this place. I will definitely be back and may even move in ?

Generally nice but overpriced hotel

Reviewed By TonyC101

Expensive for what you get. For instance, there was no restaurant or hotel services to speak of. Room was starting to look like it needed some TLC. Unsightly TV stand where TV sits on top and the big hole where the old style TV used to be is empty except for an ugly power strip - not a good look for a hotel that charges premium prices. No place to go and enjoy the outside of the hotel (no lounge areas, seats or fire pits) except a gazebo that has seen better days. Health club was a nice bonus but I guess we paid for it with the daily resort fee. Bikes available for use was nice. Front desk was friendly and always greeted you. Coffee in lobby was good.
