Love the owl Diner, classic staple in Lowell. They name all their omelettes after actual streets in Lowell. The Middlesex St. Omelette with kielbasa and onions and cheese is my favorite. If you are feeling especially gluttonous, get a grilled bagel with cream cheese instead of toast. Worth the up charge and the calories.

We were in the area for a wedding and came here for breakfast and were very impressed. You could tell the food was good because this there was a long line to get in. The service was wonderful and the waitress staff very colorful. We had a great time and they made us feel like family. I would love to come back here again.

Gormley's Cafe is a small restaurant/diner on E. Merrimack St, right across from the Immaculate Conception Church. The place is small, it has an "old fashioned Lowell charm that I appreciated. My brother and I like to try different eateries for breakfast. The servers and cook are friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the homefries so asked the waitress. The cook spoke right up and told us his "secret". Since I don't believe there's much damage you can do to eggs and sausages, the rest of our meals were fineOne thing to watch out for. Gormley's is on a busy street, parking is tight, unless you don't mind walking a distance from the municipal parking lot - I do mind. Bring quarters or use your credit card to feed the kiosk once you have found a parking spot and memorized the number.A couple of students came in while we were there, it is near Middlesex Communnity College, so be aware this might have something to do with the parking situation.

This place served the workers at the Boott Cotton Mill for decades, starting in 1937. The current owners keep up that atmosphere and serve a Boott Mill special sandwich, which has eggs, home fries, cheese, and three kinds of meat (and even baked beans). A local construction worker was in and he seemed to enjoy it. The portions are huge and the food is great. It was great to talk to the young men behind the counter about the area and the diner's historic beginnings.

I used to visit here as a college student in the 80's. The breakfasts at 3am were great. Nowthat I live locally and have a young family, I decided to try it again. Low and behold, much of the same staff I remember then were still there operating the place. We had breakfast at a reasonable hour this time. I get my eggs over-easy - and they were perfectly done. The bacon was think, yummy and just crispy enough for my liking. The potatoes are pure comfort food. The bread is white and comes buttered. The pancakes were yummy. Compared to the other local diners for breakfast in the Lowell/Chelmsford/Tyngsboro/Westford area, the coffee here is the best I've had. Parking can be a challenge, but you can usually find something around the corner without issue. For anyone visiting the old mills, this is an ideal place to start your day.
