The Inn at Woodstock Hill was a perfect place to stay and venture out for scenic drives to see the fall foliage. This was my third time staying at the Inn and we plan to come back every year. The Inn has a unique character - it has that old-time charm from the 1800s, but is updated, so you don't miss out on the modern conveniences. It is quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It is truly a little time-travel get away and we felt like we got a reset and new peace after staying here for a few days. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The manager even warmed up a cup of coffee for us when we returned late one night. The common rooms were a delight to sit in near the fireplace and just read a book late one night. The old grand staircase was so delightful - we did not mind at all having to carry our luggage up. The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and was served on real dishes and real tablecloths, none of that throw away plastic stuff. My husband loved their robust coffee and they even offered various hot teas as well. The weather cooperated nicely for a walk around the gorgeous grounds and snapping a few pictures for the memory books. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Scenic 18th Century Center Chimney Colonial. There are four guest rooms available. Three rooms are located on the second floor of the main part of the house with Queen beds, A/C, working fireplaces, and private en suite bathrooms. The fourth room is our deluxe suite located on the first floor on the opposite side of the house with a queen and a full sized beds. There is a private en suite bathroom, seating area/private breakfast nook, private entrance, and pellet stove. This is our most modern and private accommodation. Relax in any of the three common rooms, each with a real wood-burning fireplace and old beehive ovens. Incredible breakfasts with high quality and locally grown ingredients, fresh baked goods and refreshments prepared by the owner, a former chef. Antique furniture and wide board floors decorate this 18th Century house listed on the National Register of Historic Homes. Lush perennial gardens and old stone walls surround the property. We are located just off Scenic Byway CT 169, surrounded by country roads for a leisurely drive. WIFI, satellite TV, DVDs and games are all available. There are many local attractions in the area to enjoy. Including a Winery and Brewery right next door.
This little 4 room BnB was a perfect place to stay while we visited the local wineries. Fraser was a great host and made an awesome breakfast in the morning, served fireside in the dining room. The bedroom was cozy with a wood burning fireplace that was lit for us when we returned from dinner. The winery right around the corner was also very good, and they also opened a brewery recently which was also pretty good for a new brewery. We will definitely be back to explore some of the nearby downtowns like Putnam and Woodstock, and hit the couple of wineries again.

The rooms are elegant and comfortable. The bathrooms have just recently been updated. The staff is warm and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant, and it was divine. After dinner. we walked around the quaint garden paths. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful. We will be back!

Having had the pleasure of sharing Elias Child House with my mother, sisters and husband on previous occasions I was thrilled when my husband and I were able to treat our children and their significant others to a delicious hearth meal and overnight recently. I have provided all the reasons why in previous reviews...the fact that we continue to "go back for more" speaks more loudly than our words. Our group of a twelve year old, and mostly young adults enjoyed themselves as much as us older folks did in the past. Wonderful!Love the place and the innkeepers (Nell too!)

We came here as a base for our Brimfield shopping trip and can’t be happier with the experience. The host is sweet and helpful, the fellow guests were very nice, breakfast was straight out of Bon Appetite magazine (with the deliciousness to match) and the interiors are so charming and filled with great history. Views from the property and kitchen in the morning can’t be beat. If I can, I’d go here every year. A really great find!!
