First, the good: kudos and accolades to Ms. Keeton for the remarkable transformation and revitalization of the restaurant -- quite astounding given the dilapidated condition which she found it originally. In addition, she is quite personable and a hands-on manager as she seats customers herself. Knowing the history of the place and witnessing her passion -- it sets the bar of your hopes and expectations confidently high. This is met in all regards except one, and it is the most important one for a restaurant -- food quality. Now the bad: the quality of the food was horrifically bad - specifically and most notable the prime rib. The best description that I can muster would be that of old shoe leather -- specifically selected and prepared as such. I would just write it off as a one-off experience but overheard a man berating his wife about the same thing and how it "keeps happening and why do you insist on coming here". In addition, when I brought it up with the server there was no apology or mediation whatsoever. I was so disappointed and wanted to convey this that I made the flippant comment that "Now I need to walk to McDonalds as I am still hungry and that is all I can afford" after paying $60 for a salad and single glass of wine. Note: I really want to think this was just an accident as it is so incongruous with everything else but it is hard to do so when easily viewed complaints are dealt with in such a dismissive and cavalier attitude. At any rate, your experience may vary...

Hamley Steakhouse & Saloon

Nothing special here. There's no pretension to be anything other than what it is—a sandwich shop with quick, but nicely prepared and served, food.We fell upon Hamley's because our first choice was closed on Mondays. Our initial disappointment turned into a pleasant surprise. Both of us had BLATs (bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) sandwiches. We also took along a couple of chocolate chip cookies for later that day.All was good...not great...but good and we departed with noon appetites sated.Given similar circumstances in the future we'd visit Hamley's again.

Plateau Fine Dining

Exquisite cuisine, extraordinary views and attentive service is what you will find at Plateau. Our Chefs are masters the art of food using fresh local ingredients & attention to detail. Plateau showcases local wines from Oregon and the Walla Walla Valley

Eating at Plateau was a pleasant surprise to be discovered in a sub par location. Nestled on the second floor of this tawdry casino is a restaurant to embrace for its understated elegance and expansive view. The chef is skilled at both preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes. It is obvious he carefully selects locally sourced foods whenever possible and prepares them to please the eye as well as the palate. Service was also prompt and professional making one feel like an honored guest. The Caprese Salad had a touch of mint julienned with the basil and was served in the hollowed cap of an heirloom tomato. I found it to be the perfect combination of flavors. The filet mignon was tender and cooked just as ordered. The vegetables were so tempting that I ordered two green vegetables instead of a vegetable and potato. I was not disappointed with either dish and enjoyed the Hollandaise Sauce which was creamy and delicate in flavor.

Cadillac Jack's Saloon & Grill

Excellent steaks and BBQ ribs. Not much on decor, but the food was good. We ate outside on the patio, which was very nice.

We love going for breakfasts; the food is fresh, hot and tasty. The service is always quick, friendly and efficient. My husband's favorites are the biscuits and gravy, the bacon and eggs, Taco Omelet, The Cadillac scramble omelet is something we both enjoy. The hamburgers for lunch are our favorite in town. They are a 'set down' meal for a 'two-handed burger" We enjoy the coffee and good iced tea. We have never received a poor meal.
