RESTAURANT & BAR We offer fresh meals made with love and local ingredients. The restaurant is located in an old and charming house on the top of a hill with amazing view of the ocean, town and surrounding mountains. In the renovated basement we have a bar

I ordered the best on the menu, lamb filet. It was tough meat, and bland. I hate going out to eat for a meal I could cook better at home. Very disappointed. It is an expensive restaurant and I expected MUCH better. I do not recommend this place.

Traveling through Vik and found this place on trip advisor. Cute place, nice staff, smaller menu but food came out fresh and fast! Burgers and pizza for us. All of it was good but they brought out jelly to go with the pizza! I know it is an Icelandic tradition to eat pizza with jelly, but just no and I have forbid it in my Italian home in the US!

Delicious starters -mushroom soup and scallops with fennel and orange slices. The rack of lamb was succulent, the beef tenderloin was also perfectly cooked. The Artic Char was tasty but not so soft. For dessert, the chocolate mousse and parfait was great and the Skyr eas ok.

Drangar Restaurant

My wife and I took advantage of the 15% savings on the “Icelandic three course dinner”offered to guests staying here (our staging hotel for the Glacier Lagoon.) We are so glad we did! I ordered food unique to Iceland — fresh cod served sashimi style with sliced cucumber on top, barley and vegetables served like a risotto, and for desert skyr with cucumbers and a meringue crisp. My wife had potato leek soup, poached Arctic char and a unique white chocolate mousse served on top of plums. So much flavor! The only hiccup was the the restaurant has a new manager and is changing the wine list. So the only red wine was a Louis Latour Pinot sold by the glass, and too was really good. Service was great in that our server steered to what turned out to be very good options, and was attentive. We’re from California so not too much sticker shock on the bill especially considering food quality, ambience and that service is included.
