My family had a wide range of experience at this restaurant. Mostly, it was in our thoughts about the food that we differed. My aunt complained that her sweet tea looked and tasted like water and the server insisted it was sweet tea (since when is sweet tea clear?), and my dad did not care for his margarita and didn't think it tasted like a margarita. Many family members said their food was not the best Mexican. On the other side of the spectrum, those who ordered tacos thought our food was excellent. My tacos were exceptionally tasty. My margarita was also very good.A couple of family members never got their sides. One thing we do agree on was it was an off night for service. At least we hope it was an off night. They claimed they were busy because of the holiday weekend. The manager came by to apologize for the delay and to chat a bit, but I'm confused why the manager couldn't at least get us some water or take our drink orders. The waitress I think did the best she could, but the kitchen was quite slow.Overall, our experience was just a little strange. Personally, I would have gone back though I recognize the service was somewhat poor. I would hope it was just an off night.

Very nice staff. Waitress was great! Restaurant on top floor. Didn’t see an elevator. Indoor and outdoor seating. View of the marinara. Was a little bit of waiting times but the food was awesome. If looking for something different would recommend coming here to eat. Prices reasonable. I had the veggie quesadilla and LOVED IT! There are a few other restaurants and shops here as well.

This taco truck operates from 11AM-3PM Mon-Sat year-round. I expected taco truck quality of "not bad' to "pretty good" but I got "better than most taquerias in San Francisco." I moved from NYC to San Francisco years ago and so have tried my fair share of Mexican food around California. This is better than almost all taquerias, and better than all taco trucks, I've tried. The food is fresh and very tasty. The staff is super nice. The setting is clean and pretty with tables in the shade and wildflowers around us (in September). We had:- veggie burrito and they had real veggies in there, not just peppers and onions, excellent burrito.- meat burrito, my cousin was very happy and she's a gourmet chef.- shredded beef quesadilla, more (well-seasoned tasty) meat than cheese, never seen that and now we're spoiled. Enjoy!

La Fogata

My husband and I went out for date night last night to the new La Fogata restaurant in Bohicket Marina. Our experience was less than ideal, and I think the owners are discovering that it is much easier to operate a food truck (which they do on Johns Island) than a sit-down restaurant.First off, we opted to sit inside, rather on their deck. It is summer-season. It is hot. It is humid. Well, we quickly discovered that their air conditioning wasn't working. We were seated in a corner with a high-powered fan just inches from my husband's back. We could barely hear ourselves talk. Then we ordered iced tea. It comes warm with no ice. Our waitress did bring us chips and salsa, which were a nice touch. At the old restaurant, you had to pay for this. I ordered a platter with three chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The tortillas had barely any filling and by the end of my meal, I had a plate full of tortilla shells. My husband ordered the beef fajitas. The fajita filling came on a sizzling plate, but everything (beef, pepper and onion strips) was overcooked. At least our waitress, Mireya, was a sweetie and couldn't have been more helpful. After our meal, we walked outside and it was actually a little cooler on the deck than it was inside the restaurant. Hopefully, La Fogata is going through some growing pains and they can straighten out these issues. But in the future, we will go to one of the other very good Mexican restaurants instead of returning here.
