An already packed restaurant meant a muted welcome as the serving staff were already busy. However once drinks had been delivered the service was timely and friendly.The food, onion bargees, minced lamb/aubergine and rice,,karma marsala,flavoured papadoms, was of an excellent standard.The restaurant has a consistent reputation for high quality Northern Indian cuisine and can only be faulted for its young sometimes inexperienced staff.The "Best Indian " for kilometres!

There are some reviews complaining it is not even Indian food, I disagree.Often people visit restaurants and order the least ordered weird named dishes which are just there to fill the menu - my advice is to ask for the specialty of the restaurant. The specialty of this restaurant as I inquired is Lamb Karahi and another dish I cant remember. Coming from the sub-continent region (India and Pakistan) I can vouch for the authenticity of the taste. I did not try other dishes but I would recommend the first-goers or even others to order Lamb Karahi. It is finger-licking good.

Khana Mandir is without doubt the best Indian restaurant in town. It is not cheap, but what you get on your plate is good. We had a few garlic naans, a starter with marinated boneless chicken and Chicken marsala and Madras curry as mains.... the waiters will take good note of your inclinations for more or less spicy versions of the mains.

Welcoming was very nice after seeing improvements in the terrace, parking, outside decoration and plants arrangements.Waiters are very agreable, as always Joel is in every detail, bravo!Dishes are tasty, well presented and with the right spices. Butter chicken and veggies (courgettes and small onions) are to die for!We are looking for to come again and enjoy the new terrace!
