My wife and I stopped here yesterday while shopping and we will definitely be back soon. This place has a bar on one half of the space and tables on the opposite half wall, which is all brick. The atmosphere is quaint and rustic. We started with the stuffed dates and beef tartare. The dates came out halved and roasted along with pancetta and were delicious. The beef tartar consisted of nicely chopped beef, not ground on top of roasted beef marrow presented in a halved marrow bone. 4 nicely grilled pieces of crusty bread cut on the bias were the perfect amount and this was probably the best beef tartare I've had anywhere. It told us right away the chef really knows what he's doing. Next came a bowl of Wild Mushroom bisque, and it came in a nice big bowl. Cilantro oil in a pattern on top made the presentation really cool, and the flavor was incredible. The thin crust sausage pizza came out next and was just great and enough for both of us, about a small medium size. This place has upper class European food in a casual rustic setting. Snobs and down to earth folk would all feel like this was their place to go. It certainly is now one of our favorites. It's a great place to do a tapas style ordering of several medium plate dishes. Next time we'll try some of their tar-tines which are open faced sandwiches.Thank you for stopping in while shopping. A couple from Cleveland whom we met at a winery near Erie PA recommended this place. It is fantastic. The food from Pierogis, Veiner Schnitzel, to Stuffed Cabbage was terrific. The portions are huge. This is a cafeteria style service, but someone carried our trays to a table for us. The hours are limited and the lines long. This is where the locals eat. If you are anywhere near Cleveland this is a must stop.

We arrived in Cleveland on an early leg of our cross-country adventure from Massachusetts to Yellowstone. Our host at the air bnb recommended this place as dog-friendly on the patio. Well, en route to dinner, the skies opened and the patio service was suspended, except for the full bar. Lovely hostess (I wish I got her name) and great bartender Sal made it work for us and our boy, Dunkin'. We got a seat at the bar!On top of the excellent, professional, friendly service, we discovered interesting, delicious and reasonably priced food choices. I am, by my own admission, a special needs diner, all fussy and full of restrictions. The martinis were iced and lovely, the apps so interesting the choice was hard (wild mushroom croquettes won) and the entrees we shared were pretty amazing (mushroom chicken linguine and spiced cauliflower salad). So, dinner with drinks for about half of what we would have paid back home with a fab atmosphere, helpful staff and a place for our boy. Who could ask for anything more?

Microbrewery with a nice tap selection on a very long bar. It is also a restaurant in a nice airy room with very good traditional German food. Attached next door is a small delicatessen with a great selection of imported German and other European specialties. Short walk from the West Side Market.
