Davidson is a town on Lake Norman in northern Mecklenburg County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population was 10,944 at the 2010 census, and in 2016 the estimated population was 12,452. The town was founded in 1837 with the establishment of the Presbyterian Davidson College, named for Brigadier General William Lee Davidson, a local Revolutionary War hero. The land for Davidson College came from Davidson's estate, a large portion of which was donated by his son.

There are a few tables, some booths, and a long counter with seats. Lots of young folks there (not a criticism, just a commentary).We went with friends for dinner. I had a juicy pimento cheeseburger, which was well prepared. I had the very good sweet potato fries, which looked much better than the tater tots two other got. My wife had the salmon wrap, which she enjoyed.The service was, well, not that good. The "attentiveness" was spotty. When the server brought water, she spilled some, and said, "oh," and left, making no effort to clean it up. We wiped it up with several napkins. Not good.

Been awhile since I've been here and the last time was not a favorable experience but decided to try it again after a very good experience at the one in Mooresville.Turns out little has changed since the last time I was here. Of the three or four employee's present, only one made any effort to actually serve. The #6 was average at best and the meat had very little taste to it. Tomato's the same way.Place is somewhat run down and is in desperate need of a new paint job and some new tile.

Never been to McAlister's but the wife raved about it. We ordered the new yorker and the french dip with chicken tortilla soup and mac with cheese. Chicken tortilla soup was delicious the mac and cheese was average. The french dip was so delicous must get, im not big on rye bread or mustard but my wife love it.
