I really wanted to like this place but in the end, I paid too much for a less-than-satisfying experience.Potato skins appetizer: goodGreen chili stew (starter): deliciousSteak: so undercooked, I had to send it back and even when it came back (slightly more cooked), by the time I finished it, my jaw LITERALLY ached from chewing through the tough meatVegetable rice (side): so salty I could not eat more than the first biteWhen you drop $40 for a meal in which the appetizer and starter are the highlights, well...Service was friendly but inconsistent.You wonât find another steakhouse in Gallup, to my knowledge, so just donât have steak in Gallup.

I'm not sure there are other options for sushi in Gallup. Zen isn't the best I have ever had but it was a very nice surprise to find it in a city without a tong of choices in ethnic food. I never had the sashimi but I had a very rolls there and they were pretty solid. A friend who has been in Gallup for years and is like me an east coast transplant goes fairly often. In short if you like sushi and find yourself in Gallup wanting something other than pizza and new mexican fare, give this place a try.
