It is situated along the Oude IJssel (Old IJssel) river in a part of the province of Gelderland called the Achterhoek . The municipality had a population of 57,292 in 2017 and consists of an area of 79.66 km (30.76 sq mi) of which 0.60 km (0.23 sq mi) is water. This makes Doetinchem the largest town (by population) in the Achterhoek.

Traveling on business and had one of the best meals ever!!We started out with fresh oysters that came with a passion fruit sorbet.. it was so good.For dinner my colleague had the smoked oyster that came with a very well nice presentation of a spring salad.I had the Sea bass that cama on a bead of orzo with asparagus and a very lite accent of aged cheese. One of the best dishes I have ever had.Such a quante town with soooo much charm.

This is going to be a thoroughly positive review because I just couldn't spot a downside that would send me packing. We have been here on as many occasions as possible for various reasons.I'll start on the atmosphere: this is the old fire department building of Doetinchem. It is slightly off the center of town and therefore somewhat more quiet, so if you're looking for a spot to observe people this is not the place.Surroundings are somewhat industrial with minimal effort put in to make it look like a surrogate home. Especially in summer when all overhead doors are open, you get the feel of some beach café. Furniture has a long history before landing on this spot but is comfortable enough.Every now and then there is live music to brighten up visitors with troubled tales to tell and to keep the other guests happy as they were.The choice of drinks is quite good, they just shouldn't put an excellent beer like Lefort in the fridge. You will find yourself forgiving towards almost everything that is not perfect. Like sometimes your order is forgotten. It happens everywhere but here you just ask once more and you get a nice talk in addition.Food is simple and very tasty, good products and perfect preparation, the cook will adapt to your wishes if need be. Afterwards you can enjoy a good whisky with a cigar in the great outdoors.After some consideration I found something that could be labeled as a downside: winter opening hours are very limited so in that period you need to find an alternative. OK, Blend will do in weekends but still you will find yourself longing.There is talk about a limited existence of this beautiful facility because plans are made to buldozer it away to make room for something else. Let's hope this will be postponed indefinitely!

Heerlijk gegeten. Niet te duur en erg goed gemaakt het personeel is erg vriendelijk. De sfeer is erg prettig we komen zeker nog eens terug.
