Great atmosphere in downtown Lowell. This is really a pub so go for a pint but the food is mediocre at best. The owners are Irish and friendly. As the evening progresses the Court morphs into a true bar with a twenty something crowd. There is a function room upstairs.

A well known family run business that is full of history and character-- one of the oldest bars in the country.

The dark street level bar is packed with regulars who know each other. The second floor bar and entertainment area is supposedly haunted by a ghost named Matthew who holds court when one least expects it. Drinks are cheap...the burgers are hearty. It was good enough for Edgar Allen Poe, Ed McMahon and Jack Kerouac so it's plenty good enough for me. I can't get back there soon enough.

Five of us on a Sunday evening were seated right away. The server came right over, gave us chips & salsa, took drink orders, brought the drinks & took food order. We started with the fried plantain appetizer. A good sized plate of plantain medallions with a small amount of guacamole was shared among us. It was tasty. Two vegetarian burritos, one tres tacos, one cubano sandwich & one burger were our orders. Everyones food was plentiful & everyone thought it was good. Prices are reasonable at $10-15. If in the area, a good place to try.
