Dined at the Fjordhotel as our reservation elsewhere was cancelled due to staff illness. The dining area is huge and while decorated quirkily lacked a bit of atmosphere. Sadly the views of the fjord were obscured by bad weather. Food portions were large, which was good after a day's cycling and tasty enough, but nothing to write home about. Serviced was a little dissapointing.

We enjoyed an evening at Martha Meidell unsure what to order and should have realised that with a possible 4 courses each one must be small enough to leave room for the other 3. Two of us ordered salmon, since that's what Norway does best. It tasted amazing, which in some ways was cruelly frustrating because the portions were tiny. I wouldn't have missed the experience of such great cooking but couldn't afford the full 4 courses so I can only suggest you eat here for the gastronomy but not to satisfy your hunger - practice eating slowly!

Very friendly staff and we were lucky with a live band/ jam session. Had just finished a 5 hour walk and needed some water beer and something to eat. Menu was heavily pizza, burger etc. Something lighter would have been welcome
