The recommendation for this restaurant came from the owner of our gîte and we came with a friend from Paris. We had a good time and liked the food.We chose a couple of entrées/starters to share - rillette, friture and charcuterie. The portions were larger than expected. The rillette was very good indeed with a more compact texture than usual. The friture was little fried fish, which were fresh and light. The charcuterie platter was not what we expected, which was saucisson, ham, pâté, etc. What appeared was a large plate of boudin blanc, boudin noir, chorizo and somthing similar to hasslet but far nicer. All was delicious. Each element of the dish wasn't heavy, but altogether and with the portion size, it was very filling. A bit too much even for 3 people. For main course, I had river fish, which one I can't recall. We also had lamb and a chicken dish. My fish was cooked perfectly but I didn't enjoy it very much. It confirmed my dislike of fresh water fish, I don't like the muddy flavour. This was no fault on the chef's part. The lamb was full of flavour but the chicken was less exciting. For puddings, two of us had the chocolate and pistachio cheesecake. It was a large piece of dense and onctious chocolate deliciousness! The flavour was lovely and intense. I never thought I would say this, but I wish there were less. It was so rich that I had to force it down. If I had a box, I would have taken most of it home and enjoy it the following day!The general atmosphere was convivial. The restaurant was full, so booking is a must. There was a buzz but it was never noisy. It was well lit, not too bright but bright enough so that we could see the colour of the food. The provenance of the products were on display and we liked that most of the suppliers were local. The service was very good; gallic elegance without the gallic haughtiness. We had a good evening of nicely cooked food. It wasn't the most spectacular dinner we've had, but this was a lot better than many fancier establishments we know. For what we had, it was an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.Dear Pibochen,Thank you so much for your comment about your dinner at the Côté Bistro. Your feedback is very precious for us, and we appreciate your honesty. Also thank you for your recommandation. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon, maybe in our gastronomic restaurant La Maison d'à Côté!Best regards,Laura AubrySales Manager

Pleasant fare and a nice change from the Blois 'usuals'. The dreadful location on the corner of avenue de l'Europe means that only those with cars will visit. Shame.

On holiday in France, touring Loire Valley for the second time in two years. We decided to give this restaurant a try as it was close to our hotel.Bullet point our experience:-Slow, took over an hour to serve three pizzas and a bowl of tagliatelle.Inattentive; starter plates not cleared away promptly, 20 plus minutes.Inaccurate; tried to serve three dishes we hadn't ordered, the member of staff (Steve) insisted these were our order, and was verbally rude to my wife over his mistake.Inflammatory; when we ordered a second bottle of Prosecco, our waiter (Steve, picture attached)popped the cork next to my ear and left the bottle on the table, not in the ice bucket and failed to refill our empty glasses. Finally, having requested the bill we were kept waiting for another 15 minutes for the bill to be presented, ended going to the counter to settle.Quality; On the plus side, the pizza's were as you'd expect, so no complaints. You get a better service by ordering takeaway from this establishment. On balance, I always ask the question, would we ever return if visiting Blois? One word, an emphatic; non!I have no doubt I will receive on of their "template" patronising responses. No matter, I'm sure the local tourism office will be interested to learn about how one of their town's restaurants treat visitors and guests with disdain.I explained to (Steve) about our experience who brushed our experience off because he said they were busy, and proceeded to share a joke at our expense in French with his colleagues as we left.My advice would be go to the centre of Blois as we did a year ago, there are several more deserving establishments to spend your money in.
