Beljandi Brugghus

A microbrewery, bar and a restaurant started by two local boys in an old restored house in Breiðdalsvik, we serve high quality craft beer along with Tapas like seafood and meat based platters, selected from local ingredients. Do not miss out on this place

We stopped here to try the unique Icelandic beer based on the recommendation of our tour advisor. They brew three types here and they are much more hops flavored than those here in Germany. The day we stopped the brewmaster was also the barkeeper. I was the only one who tried the beers and found them interesting and worth the stop. we did not eat here.

Kaupfielagid Art & Craft Cafe

Small cafe in a small town in the Eastern Fiords area of Iceland. Wonderful food, best lamb chops! The type of cuisine is actually "Icelandic"

Stayed in Breiddalsvik for three days and visited the only shop in town, Kaupfelagid convenience store/cafe/gift shop every day. It's charming with friendly and accommodating staff. When I drank all the Red Bull in town the shop-keep made a point to order more just for me. Shelves fully loaded with candy, snacks, drugstore items and quirky gifts we didn't see anywhere else on our journey. The cafe has a 50's-60's vibe and serves soup, fresh cakes and Icelandic hot dogs at the cheapest prices we saw in Iceland.

Cafe Saxa

Reviewed By SandF2012

We were traveling from Egilsstadir to Höfn in early May and our tour stopped at the Saxa Guest House/Cafe in Stodvarfjordur to ‘stretch our legs’ and for a coffee break. The small coffee shop was a welcome reprieve where the staff offered coffee and donuts. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our visit; it was very cold and the wind was unbearable. We ventured outside for a few minutes, took some photos and went back inside. We did not stay overnight; but this was a good location to take a travel break, to relax and have some coffee.
