Top 10 Villas in Province of Granada, Spain

May 23, 2023 Leonardo Torrence

There’s an Arabic inscription that captures the essence of Granada in a few words: “There is nothing so sad as to be blind in Granada.” The perspicacity of this declaration becomes obvious as soon as you penetrate the austere walls of the Alhambra and take in the full majesty of the architecture, carvings and fountains of the Nasrid palaces. Your ticket (which should be bought well in advance following the instructions on the attraction’s website) also affords entry to the Renaissance Palace of Carlos V and to the exquisite gardens of the Generalife. If you are celebrating a special event, or are in the market for a splurge, you can stay in the lovely Parador, right on site. Make your way down into the city via the atmospheric old quarter of the Albaicin, with its tiny craft shops and restaurants, and head for the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Also plan a visit to the crypt for the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, the instigators of Spain’s imperial adventures to the New World and beyond. It’s worth making the short journey out of town to visit the Monasterio Cartuja, a fabulous Carthusian monastery in the baroque style. Admirers of the poet Lorca should make the effort to visit the Casa-Museo Federico Garcia Lorca in Fuente Vaqueros, about 11 miles from the city centre.

Lovely country hotel in magic location ?

We had such a lovely weekend in this unique and beautiful country hotel in the wonderful Alpujarras. Our host, Enrique, and his crew did everything to make us feel utterly welcome and to make our stay the most exceptional experience. The food served at the restaurant by chef Joaquin is just amazing and we even enjoyed an unexpected flamenco show during our dinner. I totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a special experience. The views are breathtaking!

Charming B&B

Reviewed By betty072

What a wonderful find. I stayed here with my husband for 4 nights as part of our 3 week touring motorcycle holiday around Andalucia and we were very impressed by Villa Madnis. Our hosts were lovely, friendly, welcoming and cared very much for us, clearly they love what they do and it shows. The villa has a lovely covered pool perfect for hot sunny days, with sun loungers and a small garden. There is a large terrace where breakfast is served on sunny mornings, which are a delight including of course true orange juice, homemade pastries, preserves, coffee or tea each breakfast different, Evelyn and Philippe are keen to please. Evening meal is delicious homemade and perfect. There is a large lounge with big comfy sofas, tv, mini bar (reasonably priced) and excercise machine if you wish to use, and for the winter a big fire. Our room was spotlessly clean with a comfy bed and lovely bedding, a large bathroom and spacious shower, all cleaned daily and towels fresh and clean. We had use of a garage for our motorcycle which was brilliant. The local village Padul is close by (too far to walk) provides everything you need if you don't want to go far in the evening, some good restaurants and cafes, our tapas where sometimes only a Euro when ordered with a drink. Evelyne and Philippe were happy to suggest places to visit and show us on our map good scenic routes for our motorcycle (all roads were very good) the Alpujarras is stunning. The Alhambra is amazing and a must see, best to buy tickets in advance. I can not recommend this B&B highly enough it's a truly lovely place to stay. Thank you Evelyne and Philippe we hope one day to return.

Amazing place and people!

Reviewed By Viajera51

If you like unusual, off the beaten path, and totally delightful places, this is for you! Perched on a mountain side above Lanjaron, surrounded by fruit and nut trees with spring water flowing through the property, it is both stunning and comfortable. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, a living area with a cozy fireplace and a pellet stove, and a very comfortable bedroom and bed. Open the bedroom window at night and you’ll fall asleep to the sound of water rushing by! Our hosts were super and our stay was incredibly relaxing. An added bonus, we drank copious amounts of fresh Lanjaron spring water everyday.

One in a lifetime experience.

Reviewed By Amsetus

Staying in a Cave House had been in my bucket list for 6 years, since I discovered the magical town of Guadix. What even made this experience better was the charming presence of our hosts, Ana and Miguel. They build this house entirely by themselves. We had a great time with them despite our short time there. Ask them for dining and local attractions. Wish we had more time to stay..

We felt directly at home by the warm welcome of Brenda She and her husband put so much attention and love in the house that it vibrates warmth and peace. All the rooms are nicely decorated and will arranged, we didn’t feel the best at all. The place is so huge that each one can find a little hideaway to enjoy relaxing moment, While others are sharing or playing. The views and surroundings are breathtaking . The Cook Stephanie, who is the daughter of Brenda, was a real discover The food was healthy and authentic and she ensured that we had everything we wanted this all with a beautiful smile. They also succeeded to find a solution for all our crazy desires. We had an unforgettable week. And we warmly and truly recommend the place for everybody who is looking to find a unique place to gather with a large group of 24 people in Andalusia
