if you are passing through Pitsunda, then you will want to stop here for 30 mins, but don't expect to be impressed.
The church grounds are very pretty, but inside be prepared for a Soviet style cinema experience, with mustard yellow bucket seats lining the interior, where there might be some pews expected.
There is a giant, ugly organ to one side, which is used regularly as part of Concerts, I listened for a while to teh organist, who happened to be having a post lunch practice at around 2.30pm one day, and I was neither impressed with the choice of music, nor the execution.
The walls are part red brick, part poorly restored frescos, and then chunks are covered in modern plaster and a 1970s paint job.

Трёхметровая композиция из нескольких арок, на которых закреплены обнаженные мужчина и женщина в момент прыжка в воду. Скульптура установлена у входа на центральный горпляж Пицунды и является визитной карточкой курорта. Автором скульптурного комплекса является грузинский скульптор Ираклий Алексеевич Очиаури. Работа имеет название "Ныряльщики за жемчугом". . Открытие скульптуры в 1969 году откладывали довольно долго, из-за того, что по мнению администрации Пицунды советским гражданам не пристало нырять в море в таком виде.

Теплое море, галечный пляж прекрасные пейзажи, вкусное абхазское вино и традиционные пляжные кричалки разносчиков съестного! Что ещё необходимо для релакса!
Абхазия приводит в порядок свои курорты, и это не может не радовать!

Воздух, потрясающий чистый воздух с особенным ароматом сосны. Он достаточно сухой, в отличие от тех же Гагры или Афона, что положительно сказывается на здоровье.
К сожалению, местные не особо следят за чистотой, оставляя за собой горы мусора.

This park must have looked glorious at the times of its heyday. It's still lovely and green at present, but obviously not enough care is put into it, which is a great pity. Nevertheless a nice place for a stroll.

Были в 2000-2001гг.
Отдыхали в Литфонде 2 года подряд. Ходили в кафе расположенном у этого озера. Рядом с озером был мини-аэродром. Тогда там были 2 экстремальных аттракциона.
1-й: полет на мотодельтаплане над Пицундой.
2-й: полет на двухместном самолете ЯК-62, или похожем на него ЯК-18.

Сойдя с трапа теплохода мы не сразу поняли что за скульптура возвышается прямо на пляже Пицунды. Однако, экскурсовод поведал нам легенду про Медею и все встало на свои места. Прогуливаясь по набережной Пицунды мимо Медеи пройти вряд ли удастся - это не городская скульптура, а практически монумент.

The summer residence of a man like Stalin was not high on my list of things to see when doing our trip to the Caucuses this summer but one of my uncles is a WWII expert and has never been to this particular piece of WWII and Russian history so I said I would go and report back. The place is quite beautiful in a pristine and memorable location, with spectacular views out of the windows. The interior was a lot more subdued than I imagined it would be, lots of wood, the bedrooms were cozy and seemed like a place I would enjoy spending part of my summer in. Still the memory of the man and his plans are hard to shake so once you have done the tour of the home, take 10-15minutes outside with the sea air to clear your juju.
