Brežice Renaissance castle is a nice local museum with even too many different collections of their history, local paintings and with really excellent big hall with Baroque frescoes. You can skip some collections but the hall is a must. When a visitor is tired after visit he needs to go the town to rest and to drink a cup of coffee

Pools in Terme Catez are really perferct! This is what I can say for hotels, too and for the service. But, if you expect anything more, like great and wild night life, this is not a place for you. Perfect for families with small kids or for couples on the beginning of the relationship.

Grad Rajhenburg

Reviewed By JaakkoTapio - Helsinki, Finland

Slovenia is full of old Castles, but this one has an extremely and variable history by different owners, during many decades. One of them (for example) Traptist Monks (silence monks), time during Second World War, among others. In this renowned castle, there are many different kind of collections and Exhibitions just going on inside. Authentic goods, furniture, clothes, paintings etc can be seen during walking around the castle. From time of traptist monks, there still exist some manufacturing companies, which has their roots from those times (at the end of 1800 - 1949).
You should reserve several hours for visiting this castle and surroundings. Can be recommended, during winter season no rush times at all.

The whole place is just beautiful. You can visit small villages all around the Zumberak hills in a car, but the best way to experiance this beautiful nature is on a bike.
Maybe it wouldn't be the easiest way because here the road is all up and down but it's worth it.
You can also go hiking, there are many trails to go on foot.

Our visitors come to relax and enjoy nature. It may be a small farm, but it has a soul. Out motto is to take it easy, forget about the time and enjoy. This family farm, where the head of the family worked as a vet, was developed like a special zoo, where they formed suitable conditions to keep a very wide variety of poultry, some special cow, horse breed, pig, and exotic parrots.
The outside of the family estate looks like traditional in a small, hidden street, but the inside is very zoo-like, with a good opportunity for children to get their attention to backyard animals, especialy when stopping for a break during a long journey.
There is an entrance fee, but we entered as a group and could easily discuss a discount for that. Cordinates helped me a lot to find the place, otherwise it is not easy to find with address.

Bio Park Divlje Vode

Reviewed By Marko P - Zagreb, Croatia

We went there for a day-break this Saturday because we found their website and it looked very promising. Unfortunately, the actual place has almost no resemblance to the website content - besides the natural scenery. Everything there looks like it was built in the 1980s and then never, ever refurbished again. Which would be tolerable if it weren't for:
a) horrible, horrible food - we ordered pork chops, wienerschnitzel and fries. They absolutely ruined everything. Fries were greasy and undercooked. Batter on the schnitzel was ultra-greasy and had the taste of ancient frying oil. Pork chops were tasteless and obviously defrosted by grilling.
b) lousy service and the hosts - when we complained about raw fries (we left the whole plate uneaten), the waiter just said "eh, sorry about that" and later gave us the check for everything (including those unedible fries) as if we said it was delicious.
Even worse scene was when one llama walked casually to the entrance of the restaurant (to the delight of the guests) and the owner chased her away by beating her with a broomstick (which he finally threw at her).
Our recommendation: if you find the scenery attractive - there are probably a dozen better places to go in the vicinity. Avoid.

It was really great surprise - we expected little exhibition but got very nice experience . The exhibition consists of 17 reconstruction of european and asian Castles built in miniature with the additional photos and explanations. You can see the buildings during the 24 hours thanks to light show - and some of them are really amazing during the night. It was the funny and educational hour and a half we spent with our children.
