Just by the highway Lj - Zg there’s a very nice local restaurant with great plates of traditional and all kind of continental dishes. We eat Kmecki kroznik. Portions are almoust big enought for two and prices are acceptable. the place and service are very pleasent and wellcoming.

Local restaurant wit the nice interior we visited accidently during our walking through Brežice. The menu was nothing special - it was mostly standard offer - but it was very tastly. We chose to eat Santa Lucia plate - if you like grill meat you won't fail if you choose it. The staff was kindly and professional. The prices were very reasonable - not too expensive.

Should you find yourself driving along Ljubljana-Zagreb highway, either direction, invest 2-3 hours into an extraordinary pleasure. Visit "Debeluh", the restaurant in the very centre of a small town of Brežice.
The cosy and comfortable atmosphere, along with hospitable greetings are always an excellent start. However, what comes next is top! Beautifully presented, creative dishes, accompanied by solid local wines will make your day, be it lunch or dinner, regardless.
We opted for a 4-dishes tasting menu. The hot appetizer, pasta with zucchini and pumpkins, topped with the young goat cheese was our #1. Of course, the other three were close.
And finally, one really observes and feels the tradition. The current young chef continued his father's path in a modern, professional way. That cannot be bought.

Mangiato benissimo. La cortesia e l'attenzione verso il cliente è sicuramente di casa. Quando siamo entrati su questo ambiente elegante abbiamo temuto di dover spendere un sacco ed invece abbiamo mangiato dei piatti squisiti e abbiamo speso 15 euro a testa. Consigliatissimo

Really helpful staff who made such an effort to translate their menu and explain the dishes to us as a table of 8 with 4 young children. The food was very fresh and delicious.

I often eat lunch there, and I also like to go there on special occasions (family, business, ...) . The choice of food is great, and you can choose a wide selection of local specialites ... I recommend grilled calamari if you re in to sea food. In my opinion one of few good restourants where you can eat well in Brezice ...

We had two main courses, meat slovenian typical food: ushtici (meat balls with bacon) and pork ribbs along with baked beans. Meat's quality was absolute top score, all fresh. They also run a butchery in Brezice town's center. Worth a visit, will surely return.

Clearly, this is one of the places where you may find the youth in this city. It is always interesting place to meet somebody new, even from different countries, as the youth hostel is there. It is nearby the city center and around 10 minutes from the bus station.
I would surely recommend different kinds of beer, both foreign and local. The prices are ok and you will be served by young and always smiled ladies. Besides that, you may have some snack as well. It is good for having some time off and relax with friends.
