Top 10 Swiss food in St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland

April 13, 2020 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Reviews on Swiss food in St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland. Although originally known as a summer destination, when the first snowflakes land in St. Moritz, so do the international scenesters, bundled up in the latest "Must Have" accessories. During winter, catch a ride on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to arrive in style. Cable cars ascend to three nearby mountaintops. Hundreds of miles of ski trails and a frozen lake comprise the area's most popular sports venues. Follow the Romans example and try one of the city's mineral springs, such as St. Moritz Bader.

This was our 2nd visit to St Moritz, just to avail the two expresses- the Glacier and the Bernina. We were dead tired after the Bernina, more so by the weather. So decided to check this one out, since we were staying in the same hotel. The wood-fired Pizzas were just awesome- way above the one we just had back in Italy the same afternoon! Who knows whether we come back again to St Moritz, but if yes, we would be back here, for sure.

Simply at the recommendation of our hotel we made a reservation at this restaurant. From the outset it was clearly a fine dining establishment, and the presence of at least four formally dressed waiters attested to this.We arrived about 20 minutes before the restaurant kitchen opened but we made welcome anyway and offered a drink and rolls until opening. When the time came to make our order we had decided on the duck breast, and the king prawns and curry. The former was described as excellent, magnificently presented and cooked to perfection. The prawns will also first class and the curry sauce, while not overpowering the prawns, was extremely tasty. The meal sizes were certainly adequate. The waiters who attended us that night were very professional in their bearing and attitude. At the conclusion of our meal, along with the requested account, we received a small dish of gratis Swiss chocolates. These were excellent. It was certainly not a cheap meal at €157 for the two of us but the meal, service and experience were worth the costDear Dennis P,Thank you very much for taking your time to review our Restaurant and the excellent Feedback. We are happy to read that you appreciated the food and the service. We are always aiming to satisfy our guest at the fullest. We hope to welcome you soon again at our Chesa al Parc.Best wishes and kind regards,Chesa al Parc Team

I was very disappointed with this restaurant, at the entrance the staff welcoming you are very nice and kind but as soon as you go upstairs it is a different world...The pizza is very basic, you can easily have a much better pizza literally everywhere else! The guy that looked like “the manager@ of the pizzeria, was so rude and was treating the rest of the guys working there so badly, even pushing them in front of the customers (shocking). Not sure why this place is popular but it did not impress me and my friends.

We were so impressed by this place, would highly recommend it to any visitor to the area. The staff are so engaging, the best so far in our trip Switzerland, happy to bridge the language gap with our English as well as help and encourage our basic Italian. The food was delicious, tempting me to try the dessert - only done so when the main course indicates the dessert will be worth the calories!!The meal started with a complimentary plate of cheese, meat and filled croissants. Nothing too big but what a surprise, and it was delicious to boot!We had the scallops pasta and gnocchi. Both are made in house - not common in Switzerland, or so we have found.Bravo Banfi’s Bar!! We will spread the word....... Bellissimo

The pizzoccheri was delicious and portions were huge. Shared as an appetizer and then had skewers of venison and beef. Avoid the lasagna. Delicious wines by the bottle or glass. Our waiter Sameh was exceptional and made great suggestions. Seating can accommodate larger groups 8-10 plus and quaint Swiss decor. Would definitely return. Enjoy!
