Top 10 Specialty lodgings in Seville, Spain

April 26, 2023 Malia Yoakum

Originally founded as a Roman city and now home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Seville is bursting with antique charm. The Alcazar palace complex is a stunning collage of architectural styles, and the Cathedral will impress you with its beauty and its status as the burial site of Christopher Columbus. The Metropol Parasol is the world’s largest wooden structure, a massive mix of grids and swirls that contains a market and a terrace observatory.

Alcazar de Eva Maria

Cute hotel, but poor execution

Reviewed By cool_jonez

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. Pros: - AMAZING location, right by the Cathedral and Alcazar. You are walkable to the entire old city - Lovely rooms - Rooftop terrace for all guests - Very sweet staffer, but she was all alone, and tasked with cleaning, helping with breakfast, assisting guests, and laundry. Cons - When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, or explain the "rules"- we found out later that the kitchen fridge is stocked with food for guest breakfasts (we thought it was someone's reserved food), there were no signs regarding wifi, or instructions on how to use the in-room safe, and no signs designating "quiet hours" (the tiny space is VERY loud). The hostal seems to be on the right track as a welcoming hideaway, but the "welcome" part needs work. - The breakfast setup is a bit of a nightmare. Everything is self-serve (coffee, toast, yogurts, etc) but the kitchen itself is only meant for 2-3 people at a time, so there's a constant gridlock at breakfast. - The 5+ guest rooms encircle the covered courtyard, which is the breakfast room. Sound travels VERY loudly, so if you have loud, noisy guests with constant breakfast conversation, you will not sleep past 7am. - There were a lot of little black drain flies on the kitchen walls. These are easy to get and easy to get rid of (my gym showers have them a lot), but the staff didn't seem to notice or care. - "Room with a balcony" is a bit misleading- our room had a balconette. Overall, I would find a better hostal with less chaos and guest noise.

Fabulous centrally located apartment

Reviewed By Meander790022

Beautifully appointed first floor apartment superbly located for everything you want to do in Seville. Though our flight arrived late evening Marta had arranged for us to be met at the airport and the self check in key code meant within about 40 minutes we arrived at the apartment. We met Marta the following morning and she also arranged for our return transfer to the airport as well as recommending various restaurants and places on the city map supplied. The apartment has plenty of wardrobe storage and shower gel and shampoo is supplied in the spacious bathroom. We found the bed very comfortable and the sitting room pleasant to enjoy a glass of wine and watch TV news before heading out for dinner. The phots of the apartment are exactly represented and it was sparklingly clean. A coffee machine and kettle, microwave and fridge enable a simply breakfast or snack to be prepared with a local supermarket (Carrefour Xpress) on hand for supplies though some coffee pods and sugar were there for our first morning. If the weather had been warmer we would have enjoyed sitting up on the rooftop terrace where there are great views over the city. We would recommend this apartment for a short break in Seville for it’s convenient location and its smart but comfortable rooms.

Rooftop au top :)

Reviewed By Mr_Borisss

A very comfortable and lovely apartment. Clean and practical. Loved the decor. Next to everything good flamenco good food, historical sites. You can do everything on foot. The beds are comfy. The woke experience was slightly spoilt by an awful smell of tobacco. It took 3 days with incense burning to get rid of it.

Very nice accomodation

Reviewed By 118pato

The appartmnet was very nice and in a great location for visiting the sights of Seville (All within walking distance). Bedroom was a little small but this was compensated for by a large well equipped living area. My only complaint was that when we arrived we had to use an automated system to gain entry using our a smart phone. This did not work and we had to contact the owners. Eventually a cleaning lady opened the door for us. This system need to improve.

Recomendable.

Toda una sorpresa!

Reviewed By Carla S

Don't Stay Here!

Reviewed By AlisonColeEmbroidery

After booking and paying for a room with parking, while en route we receive an email to say that there is no longer parking. It cost us nearly as much as the room to park elsewhere. They gave us information of where to park - nothing is reserved and was full. They told us how to get to another parking spot - except that it was the same one. The bed was full of bugs - quite disgusting - they had been living in the valance for quite some time from the number of holes they had eaten in it. Moved rooms at least but too little too late. Beware of this hostal.
