We spent several days frequenting this place for meals and drinks. The staff are friendly and extremely patient. The food was great each time we ordered. We had Irish Breakfasts, Pierogis, Zupy etc. All very nice.
The place looks small as the entrance is in old town near the castle but it's actually 3 floors with 2 bars.
Good value drinks and food. Plenty of staff on hand who are very attentive.
Highly recommended for a meal/night out.

Gospoda Sielsko Anielsko is located inside the Lublin Old Town on Rynek No.17 just beside Crown Tribunal. It's one of many on same square but have local menu and all their dumplings are handmade. I had fried Spinach and Feta cheese Dumplings and those were absolutely delicious. And regular portion of 8 pieces was too much for me. Couldn't finish all even I really wanted to.

Mandragora Restaurant

Mandragora is a restaurant located in Lublin Old Town that serves Jewish cuisine. All dishes in our menu are cautiously selected so that, to the extent possible, they reflect the nature of traditional Jewish cuisine. We prepare them exclusively from the best quality ingredients and based on old, pre-war recipes. At the same time we care of the visit in Mandragora so that it is not only a culinary experience but also a cultural one, that is why we obey Jewish customs concerning the preparation of dishes, and the interior in our restaurant was inspired by the rich cultural tradition of the pre-war Jewish Lublin. You are welcome!

As Jewish restaurants usually offer good cooking we decided to visit Mandragora for an evening meal during our stay in Lublin. The staff was unduly polite, the food was quite nice (zander fish served with nuts went well with white wine), we spent a pleasant evening there.
Frankly saying, later on we were surprised to read that Mandragora was ranked number one in Lublin city. On the other hand, it was much better than Magia (ranked numer 3) which we visited for a dinner on the previous evening...

The food is awesome, fresh stuff, cooked in a very traditional manner. Normal prices for Poland, very cheap for West europeans. Very nice traditional atmosphere, all decorations bring you back some centuries. Waitress must smile little bit more and try struggle to improve she's english skills, but at the end was a good evening. Fully recommend.

Visited late on a Sunday afternoon and had a superb meal there was a large dining area with the tables well spaced so your conversation couldn't be overheard by your neighbours. The food was excellent, the portion size was perfect to enjoy a three course meal and was very good value for money.

Identifying this restaurant in TripAdvisor, we found it located in a basement across the road from our hotel. Not having a reservation, we gingerly descended the outside staircase to find ourselves in a splendidly laid out and decorated series of rooms. We were allocated a table in an alcove. The furnishings were dark coloured and of a high quality. We had three courses each. My zurek soup - equipped with quail egg - was some of the best I have tasted in Poland this past 12 years. We each followed with zander, as the only fish on the menu that night. But nicely presented. I finished with the cheesecake ; unusual design as I hope my picture shows. We had a (I think) South African white wine. Again good. Service throughout was efficient and attentive. I hesitate to give 5* when writing reports but this meal came out on top during our 8 days in Poland this time.

I used to frequent this restaurant a lot, prior to the renovation. The food can be hit or miss now, some things are much better than others, we had steak and duck, which seemed to be fine.
However, they have some 50% off promotion for bar service alcohol so the place is terribly noisy at times and full of a younger bar crowd, none of which are eating.
The place needs to decide if it wants to go back to its roots, a good restaurant for a good meal, or a rowdy student bar. I will revisit once the identity crisis is over.

Tourists with foreign bank cards: Watch out, they charge in your home currency, including a 10% commission due to the very bad exchange rate. A rip off!
The food was mediocre except for the pumpkin with sweet potato soup, which we liked. There was no complimentary bread to go with the soup. The roasted veal was rather dry and the dish was on the salty side. Where was the bechamel sauce, as the menu stated? There was just a little brown sauce. It left us rather thirsty. The pierogi dish wasn't fantastic. On the other hand, the ambiance was rather nice and cosy.

This restaurant has a great location with a large outdoors area in the main square. The food was pretty good, although my fish dish was nothing special and we had to ask for bread. The service was polite but bordering on pushy - they didn't have our selected wine so the waitress suggested something which was more than double the already expensive price, then she highly recommended the most expensive main on the menu. It felt like she was pushing for a higher tip to be honest. While this is a good restaurant, it is not amazing and I'd by far recommend Chapter One next door instead (same owners), with far superior food and service at similar prices.

I have to say, I was shocked at the price of a burger and small portion of fries! The burger was pretty good, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was very nice. The dessert though, was something I really didn't understand! It was very tasty, but not what a "szarlotka" (Polish apple pie) has ever amounted to in my 12 years of life as an expat. If I go again, I will have to try the steak and see if I can attempt the desert again!
