No lock on room!

Reviewed By n2022w

Beware - The door to an adjoining room did not have a lock on it! An empty hole where a lock clearly should have been was simply covered by a decorative plate. The plate itself was about to fall off and when we moved it we realized there was no lock and someone from the adjoining room could open their door and simply push our door open! We told maintenance and hours later he returned with a lock, acted as if they didn’t know and no apology was made! The room is in a dire need for an update! The shower is in the bathtub which has a very high lip on it. Someone with balance issues would definitely struggle as we both hit our knees and ankles trying to get in and out. The glass doors that slide back and forth are very heavy and the knobs are about to fall off making them difficult to open and close. There’s no doubt that the surrounding area is stunning; but don’t plan on saying the same about the accommodations!

Hilton Honor Gold/Diamond Members Beware

Reviewed By mccloto

My room was nice and spacious. I was in a 1 bedroom king suite. The grounds were well kept. I was only there 2 nights so didn't spend much time on the grounds. I was surprised to find out there was no restaurant on site. Its a great place if you plan to cook yourself. I was told that some of the perks of being a Hilton honors members are not recognized as this is a vacation resort. My biggest issue was the night person who checked me in lied to me about being full. I wanted to upgrade he told me I couldn't because they were full. I then went online to find out there were a number of upgraded rooms available. I then went back to him and he was someone how able to upgrade me after I pointed this out. This is all after 11pm. The people at the front desk and concierge were very helpful the next day. All in all not a bad place to stay. Just need to know what to expect.

Has potential, but needs updating

Reviewed By Charity_ly

Stayed here with my family of 4 for 2 nights. It’s in a great area and the staff was very friendly and helpful, but it’s an older hotel that needs updated and cleaned. They never cleaned our room or brought us more towels the entire stay and the only ice machine in the hotel was out of order.

Good location

This is a 3 star resort so know that going in. Our room was very average with a leak in the bathroom. The resort is being refurbished and we knew that but the rooms were very dated. Also, we had a room that had an adjoining door and we could hear everything from next door. The staff was nice and helpful and the location was good for us, close enough to Sedona but also to the hikes we wanted.

Expensive for average experience

This resort was at a great location and a walking distance from shops / restaurants. It has a nice pool. However, it was disappointing due to bad wifi and AC especially for the price we paid. Every time we want ice, we have to call front desk and wait while for someone to bring to us.

A great location in a quieter area with a great view looking north. This resort needs a refresh, getting dated but not in total disrepair. It was just bought by Hilton so probably won't be as available to other than Hilton Club members. The same high pressure sales pitch for Time Share Ownership.

Nice Location, Poor Customer Service

Reviewed By kwngage

This is a Hyatt Residence Club, which the staff will constantly remind you. Q: "Can I get a Globalist room upgrade?" A: "No, we reserve those rooms for our HRC members." Q: "I wasn't offered bottled water upon checkin and there is no water in the room, can I get a couple of bottles?" A: "This is a Residence club. We don't have bottle water at reception, but you can get one from the HRC Sales reception office." Q: "Is there a club lounge to get coffee?" A: "There is Starbucks next door"... etc. It became a running inside joke between my wife and I "No, this is a Residence Club." We stayed at this property three years ago and had a very nice 1 bedroom suite. It was clean and nicely decorated. This time we were given a small studio. It had a foul smell (like urine) and seemed in need of refurbishment. We asked for a spray to freshen up the smell. We were told the could not bring us a spray, but someone would come and spray the room. When the maintenance man came to spray the bottle was almost empty so he left the bottle of Febreze with us. The Febreze didn't do the job so we found a grocery store and bought a can of Lysol. The location is nice if you plan on spending time in the downtown tourist section of Sedona. You will be offered the opportunity to attend a sales pitch for the HRC timeshare product in return for some Hyatt loyalty points. We listen to the pitch three years ago, so we declined this time. Based on this experience I would not stay at another HRC. Our first visit three years ago was a positive experience, but even then it seemed like the property is really for the timeshare owners and hotel guests are an afterthought.

Resort is in a great location. The One bedroom room suite with the full kitchen was most convenient. It's an older property so the rooms can use some updating. Peaceful Getaway

Traveled to Sedona for a few days of hiking and enjoyed the quiet setting of Junipine Resort in Oak Creek Canyon. My condo was roomy with a full balcony that opened to both the living room and master bedroom. Clean with all needed amenities. Fireplace added nice ambiance in the evening. A stack of wood is provided each night of your stay. It's about a 7 mile drive to downtown Sedona. I did not mind the drive in exchange for a quieter setting. I would return again.
