Give this one a miss

I'm a huge fan of Margaritaville properties and have stayed at many, but this is sub par to say the least and it's a real shame. The theming and the grounds are great, but cleanliness and the attitude of some staff is not exactly what you'd expect. Our first room on check in was covered in ants, bed, headboard, bedside table - complained to the front desk who where very apologetic and offered to move our room and provide a complimentary drinks voucher (great we thought). New room was smaller than the original, lost the pool view, had stained towels and half used bathroom amenities (over half used shower gel, shampoo etc), to be honest appeared that the room hadn't been finished cleaning since the last guest. As only staying for one night decided to just request new towels and live with it. We then popped to the bar to use our "complimentary" drinks vouchers only to be met with a bar tender who had the worst attitude ive seen in a resort. Trying to use the vouchers was like asking him to personally pay for the drinks, despite the vouchers stating any cocktail beer or wine, advised that we could only have a standard margarita as it was the cheapest drink...... Not really a great "apology for the issues so far" We then left for dinner and came back to..... 9, yes 9 fresh towels on the bed, with the old dirty ones still left in the room, it almost felt like a sarcastic jibe and not what I'd expect from a Margaritaville property. Pool staff and front desk check in agents where great, and the pool areas and bars are lovley, but the overall lack of cleanliness in the rooms and the bad attitude of a few apples really leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Fantastic Customer Service & Very Relaxing Stay

Really enjoyed my stay here in March 2022. Was greeted with a smile and welcomed as a Hilton Diamond Member. Was given an upgrade to a larger, corner room with a balcony upon request at check-in. Room was spotless, quiet. Bed was super comfortable, and bathroom was well appointed. Really enjoyed a wonderful breakfast daily in their restaurant on the terrace by the pool. Pancakes & coffee were to die for. They greeted me by name each morning with a smile. I also used their fitness center daily as well as relaxed by the pool. Also, liked their proximity to all the action in Palm Springs. Walked to the Casino next door, Village Fest close by, and ate at Sherman's Deli multiple times (incredible sandwiches & desserts). Short drive or Uber to the Aerial Tramway. The customer service from the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping really shined here and was much better than I received at the Doubletree in Cathedral City. Loved the free shuttle to aiport too. Recommend this property highly and I cannot wait to return.

Ace Hotel & Swim Club

Dine at King’s Highway, drink at the Little Bus, late night at the Amigo Room, swim at the Club, massages in our Feel Good Spa.

Cool vibes, tasty food and snotty service.

Reviewed By brandiceewilson

Ace hotels will always be my first choice when traveling. They aren't for everyone; if you're a fan of the Four Seasons (snore), then Ace probably isn't for you. That being said, this is one of their older properties, which could use a bit of a refresh. Nonetheless, love the mid century, desert nights vibe which is totally authentic to Palm Springs. The location is perfect. Very close to downtown. The beds are comfy, soaps smell great. Food is awesome (both in the restaurant and by the pool). The pool is big and fun. They serve drinks and DJ out of a bus by the pool. And there's a spa on property (though I haven't been). HOWEVER, the front desk staff are very rude. My friend & I booked and confirmed (and confirmed over the phone) a double-bed room. But when we checked in, we were told our reservation was for a single king room and that they "couldn't alter our reservation" because it was booked through third party. Bull. Like they have no control over how their own property is run? They had double bed rooms available, and I mega confirmed beforehand that's what we had. I even showed the woman my email confirmation which clearly stated double-bed room. But there was "nothing she could do." She wouldn't even contact her manager. So I spent the next THREE HOURS trying to sort this mess out with the third party booking service and the front desk person to no avail. By the time the third party was able to get ahold of her through her line, she said they were "sold out" of double beds. How convenient. Oh and she also cancelled our reservation entirely, because she said the third party said I wanted to cancel. I never said that. So then I had to scramble to even get the king room back so that we wouldn't be stranded. In summary, it's a cool place. But triple confirm your room both in writing and over the phone, and even then, be prepared for a battle. Don't expect the front desk to be friendly.
