Top 10 Resorts in Byron Bay, Australia

May 16, 2023 Russell Mellin

Byron Bay's beaches are dotted with lighthouses and surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, rays, whales and sea turtles. This former New South Wales whaling station turned tourist town is still strongly influenced by its recent bohemian past, when hippie lifestyles flourished. Bongos and didgeridoos sound in parks, sarongs and dreadlocks are common, and vegetarian restaurants abound. Give in to the casual vibe and stroll between beaches and bars for a low-key and happy day.

We stayed here for Christmas and loved it. Setting is idyllic, short walk to a very private beach and the facilities in hotel are great, with a really good pool. We stayed in a room about 5 mins walk from the main hotel and it was very peaceful and the room itsel GB was gorgeous. About a 5 minute drive into town. Highly recommend

Great location but that's about all

Check in was efficient but welcome was lacking. Great location, 6 minute walk to cafes, restaurants and shopping in the main street, further 2 minutes to main beach. Pleasant pool area, though on the small side, good hot spa. Secure undercover parking. On the downside, lots of noise from other rooms - the doors bang loudly when closed and could hear what people in next room were saying. Light from hotel next door shining into room entire night, bright light in hallway kept on all night and shone under door (should be dimmed after 10pm). Room was dark and damp, no privacy when curtain opened due to hotel next door. No water pressure in shower made it almost impossible to wash hair or properly rinse off soap. Rooms are only serviced every 8 days. Only one set of towels provided. Notice said free laundry downstairs but we grabbed fresh towels off a trolley in the hall and placed wet towels in a basket near the pool. Think other guests did same. Floor in room wasn't clean. I swept every day - going under chairs and tables - so much dust and other bits of rubbish. No sharp knife in cutlery drawer. Rubbish bin had a bad odour. At $360 per night was very over priced but demand is there as wasn't much else left in Byron at time of booking.

Perfect Birthday weekend in paradise

This resort is so spacious, clean and close to Treehouse cafe. So close to the Beach. It has its privacy too. Plenty of private parking for cars, so off the street. The management are so fantastic ! They were very obliging and super friendly. We stayed with a larger group and there is so much room in the units. They have a great entertainment area. I was also surprised how close you are to the main city of Byron. We walked into town, took 15 mins. So no need to order cabs and just out of town enough that it is still relaxingly quiet. We will be back !!

Absolutely amazing - the best honeymoon location ever!

Reviewed By megansL6385UZ

Wow! Just wow! We came here for our honeymoon and the villas did not disappoint. It is by far the best place we have ever stayed. Once you enter the villa you feel as though you are a million miles way from anywhere. The busy-ness of Byron melted away and you were in this private oasis. Everything about the villas was just spot on and there were so many places to relax in the villa, the day bed on the deck, the lounge chairs, the oversized sofas, the table and chair on the deck and massive bed. The villa is completely private, including the outdoor shower, pool and spa. Once you are there you do not and should not leave the Villa! We cant wait to have an excuse to come back and stay again! The staff were also super helpful and communicative and made the stay all that more relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you!
