Where warm country hospitality meets modern comfort. This older style motel has been gradually renovated and reburbished over recent years and will surprise you with it's individual and colourful room decor, towel art and a clean fresh feel. Most rooms offer a garden patio with flow through ventilation and others, a king size bed with an espresso coffee machine, upstairs and ground level. Our beautiful pool, BBQ area and gardens are landscaped. They adjoin the dedicated breakfast bar and provide an alternative from inside dining by a large flat screen TV to outside. Perfect for those warm summer or sunny winter mornings. Surrounded by tall leafy trees, our guests enjoy the sounds of nature as they relax at this tranquil spot. The adjacent street offers great secure parking for long and heavy vehicles, trucks and RV's. There is limited parking internaly for trailers and towed boats. We are situate on the main road of Taree, a township now bypassed by heavy traffic, 1.2 km from the CBD.
Only king bed we could find, with the hottest shower.
Reviewed By jasonwillgoMade a booking a week out from visiting family in the area. Smooth and no fuss transaction, backed up by email confirmation. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner/manager. Glynnis had a very professional yet friendly style. The room was a king suite, that was very clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable, as were the pillows. Of worthy mention was the bathroom and shower. The bathroom was small, but as expected for a motel. The rain style shower was the hottest i have experienced in a very long time. The water pressure was very good as well. My overall opinion is that this business hasn't tried to cut costs to save money. Some motels have slow warm showers and average rooms. This wasn't the case here. Crescent has delivered a great experience at a budget price. I would not even bother looking elsewhere when i return to Taree.

Reviewed By mattsU1727FNThe manager , from the subcontinent, I believe was incredibly helpful in all facets of the check in and indeed for the whole stay. Clean rooms with nice outlay. What a treat it was to stay at the Marco Polo especially so as a fellow traveller albeit on a bicycle.

Superb little Taree motel
Reviewed By BDEW1952We stayed for two nights. Third time we've stayed there. Older but very good condition and very clean. Fully equipped, all the little things one finds handy at a motel. Excellent bed, and shower. Very handy to business heart of Taree, and the river and places to eat. Very well looked after by proprietors. Highly recommended.

Helen was so thoughtful and helpful upon my arrival and was so obliging. convenient location, comfy, clean, quiet room. Parking out front of room. Will definitely be my first choice in Taree from now on.

Quiet and great river views
Reviewed By 7TerrafirmaWe stayed here for 2 nights in a Balcony room. Price was good, surprisingly quiet (even though we were close to KFC). The Balcony view of the river was wonderful. Location was great, 100m from CBD, Staff were great. Would recommend the balcony room. We have already booked for next year.

Just relax, and admire the lovely view
Reviewed By JElliot32We over-nighted here and the motel is modest to say the least, but then the low tariff reflects that. The pool especially was in a very unappealing condition. What made our stay was the wonderful, expansive view from the room of the Manning River. At dusk and then again in the morning, it is magical. The room was a reasonable size (there were three of us), was clean and wifi reception was good. Usual trappings like m/w oven, mini-fridge, toaster, crockery etc all provided. Would stay here again.

Railway Lodge, Taree, is a quirky and interesting heritage building, still retaining much of its colourful history. Having originally been the Railway-Drivers` Barracks for many years, the Lodge is close to the Railway Station yet close to Taree shops, Manni Base Hospital and the beautiful Manning River. The owner has enhanced the historic building and property with an eclectic and exotic collection of antiques and artwork from all over the world, including many Australian pieces, making the place a goldmine of fascination and intrigue. A steam engine greets guests on their arrival and a small gallery of railway memorabilia scatters itself throughout the property, also the Lodge is located directly next door to the local model railway, for those train enthusiasts. A Railway Lodge is clean and quiet and definitely not indicative of its reasonable tariff. Reception hours are from 8am-8pm. A complimentary continental breakfast is available for all of our guests to enjoy between 7am-10am
Terrible
Reviewed By KaesmithMy mum and I stayed there this week for 3 nights, it is a terrible place to stay and we wouldn't ever go back. The rooms were grotty, there was no toaster, no hairdryer, no welcome information pack, no glasses, the fridge was turned off, there was half a roll of toilet paper, frayed towels and the guy got annoyed when we asked for fresh towels the next day. The TV stopped working on the last night we were there as did the hot water system, so hence no body got a hot shower. There was no mirror in our room and no wardrobe to hang any clothes. It poured rain and there were leaks everywhere. Definitely not worth $100a night and we would have left had we not paid in advance. There was no breakfast available whatsoever. And the entire time we were the the room was not cleaned or any rubbish taken away. We had to empty the rubbish ourselves. The only recommendation I'd give anyone is find a better motel.

Disappointing
Reviewed By Anderson280Clearly a no smoking venue but ash trays provided by the owners outside every room unfortunately the person in the room next to us decided to use the ashtray outside our door for 3 hours while he watched races on his phone. Strangely, he apologised but refused to move away. Also the directory in the room indicates that meals and breakfast is available, sadly they don’t tell you that is not correct until after you Chaco in and pay. Very disappointing.
