Fort Lauderdale’s canals and charm have earned it the nickname “The Venice of America.” The beaches offer 23 miles of golden sand, lively with the spirited antics of happy vacationers. Sail the blue-green waters on a chartered catamaran, or dive beneath the surface to meet-and-greet the local sea life. So pleased I booked Snooze for our time in Fort Lauderdale as Matt the Manager was the best part of this hotel. As we traveled from Australia and were going on a cruise we required a Covid test before boarding. This was not as easy as I expected and after trying Walgreens & a Medical clinic with no luck Matt came to the rescue and organised a Doctor to come directly to our room to do the rapid test and issue a medical certificate. Matt was also helpful with recommendations on things to do and where to go and responded immediately if I sent a text with questions. The beach right across the road is beautiful and they supply beach towels, chairs and other gear.

Pretty hard no from us

Reviewed By elainenF8827RC

What was good: The staff: David the shuttle bus driver, front desk was lovely and super helpful at both check in and check out; breakfast ladies were fantastic -- great job everyone. What wasn’t fantastic: so noisy. We slept but were awakened with every door slam and every group of guests yakking it up in the corridor. This is a travel hotel so be considerate of your neighbours. We had a bit later check out and had two knocks on the door and two phone calls in the morning. I feel like the staff are trying really hard and are very positive in their work. The shuttle bus lady was bossy as heck. Left a bad taste for me see her bossing David to “get out of the way!” The bus costs $ 15-20 USD pp and is pretty gross. It’s just over a New York minute to the port, so take a cab instead. It was raining and I got totally soaked from water running INSIDE the shuttle. The driver was helpful with bags but impatient with other drivers. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel is complimentary; the one to the cruise port IS NOT. It costs companies a lot of $$ to have entry into the port so this is always a pay item no matter what. Would I stay here again. It’s not likely but never say never.

Fantastic place to stay

So I don’t like writing revenue. Most of the bad reviews are written by people who don’t know what they are talking about, and a lot of the great ones are by those who are associated. But this one I feel I need to do. First off this is a charming family run motel. Everyone is very kind, welcoming, and helpful. There is a nice small pool, a great restaurant on the beach across the street, and shops and restaurants a very quick ride up the street. . This is a very basic no frills place to stay. It is is an incredibly safe almost upscale neighborhood. Since it is a very small family run place don’t expect the office to be open all the time. But if you are going to arrive late they will email you with directions on how to access your room. When every hotel in the area is $350 A night plus this is a perfect place to stay. One very small detail the bathrooms do not have outlets, so no hair dryer connections. But my wife just used one outside the bathroom and stood in front of mirror

Keep Expectations in Check

The people are well-meaning, but the check in system is random, there is sometimes no one at the front desk and there are no room phones. The physical property is in a state of disrepair throughout but honestly it probably reflects the price point so I shouldn’t complain. Keep your expectations where your wallet is, enjoy the pool and the sunshine and enjoy yourself.

1. The manager there is extremely rude! Stayed there for 2 weeks and they did nothing to try and get me moved to a room that had a decent bed. They are all sunken in like the grand canyon., You practically have to ask twice to have the room full serviced and evne then it's iffy. The pool was being repaired the entire time I was there. Front desk people are extremely nice but Jo the manager polices the place like she owns it. Rude. Place was relatively clean but outdated. Bad lighting in the rooms.

Haven Hotel - Fort Lauderdale Airport

Haven Hotel is located in the heart of one of America's favorite vacation playgrounds; Sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This historical Haven Hotel was built in 1937 as a road side motel on Federal Highway, a two lane road between Port Everglades and the International Airport. This major thoroughfare, known as US-1, consists of eight lanes today and old Federal Highway is a quiet side street. The hotel has also seen some changes since the thirties. Major renovations were completed in the last years, updating the entire building and its interior, adding modern technology, such as free Wireless Internet and digital cable television to the charm of old Fort Lauderdale. If you're vacationing on one of the 3,000-plus cruises leaving Port Everglades annually, no other hotel can provide lodging closer to both airport and cruise terminal, just .5 miles from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport and .3 miles from Port Everglades. A family run hotel where the customer’s needs come first.

Multiple problems with this place, no cleanliness, broken furniture, not enough bedding stuff, if you ask for blanket, you get a response that housekeeping is not there....the way it is advertised is a misrepresentation of Days Inn chain of hotels and it is affecting goodwill of Wyndham corporation. I have attached a picture just to show what you get on the breakfast here. I would not recommend this place especially to families and insist everyone not book this place so they can change their way of operation to match hospitality industry's standards.

The owner is a rude and unwelcoming woman

Reviewed By pennysE2112MW

We were happy with our stay in November. It's a run-down beach property, but the queen + king room is very large for 3 people, so we stayed here again. This time, the owner was on site and was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Last time, we parked 2 vehicles in their AMPLE parking at no cost. This year, she informed me that not only did the not have parking available (they did) but that I would have to park several blocks away at a different hotel and valet for $15 per day. The other hotel said they had no agreement for parking with the Ocean Reef. Annoying because there is ABSOLUTELY no mention of a 1-car limit or any offsite charged parking in their parking policy on hotels.com (where I booked). They have plenty of parking and there were about 3 cars parked in the spaces behind the building. There are at least 10-15 spaces back there. Given that it is not the cleanest hotel, or the newest, you'd think they'd be fine with an extra car taking up one of there MANY empty spots. I even offered to pay them for the second car so I wouldn't have to find alternative parking far away. It was a hassle and the owner told us she "doesn't care if we don't stay there again." There's a lot of things I can tolerate and overlook when I am on vacation and trying to relax, but this lady being stubborn and rude is not one of them. ZERO stars for that.
