Anason - Turkish Restaurant

Have been here numerous times before but first time under new chef and with new menu. Not impressed. Some favourites have been retired (barramumdi) with new ones such as barbounia and snapper not up to scratch as they were way overcooked. The entrees have gone bland from their previous sharp tastes. Best on the night was the imported baklava and the coffee for which I will go again for - after having dinner elsewhere!

Our lunch at Graze was very good. It’s location in the Museum of Contemporary Art and view of the Harbour and Sydney Opera House is very pleasant. Our meals (teriyaki tuna and pappardelle pasta) were very tasty. Service was good; but lacked personal attention. Prices are on the high side; but as noted above, the setting is perfect.

We went for lunch at this very expensive restaurant. Although the food was moderately tasty it was very overpriced. We ordered the scampi which was MP on the menu. They did not tell us the price and proceeded to charge us $40 per tiny half of scampi. When we addressed the issue when the bill came the staff said they couldn’t help us. Although the manager was apologetic, he said the owner was working in kitchen and refused to discuss the prices. Super disappointed in this restaurant and definitely will not be back.we tried many dishes at this restaurant and none of them worth the price.Hello There,Thank you for posting a very unfair review. The above doesn’t not match with your comments made in the restaurant today. Let me get one thing straight with you. No one likes people who lie!You ordered a pasta dish with JUMBO SCAMPI at 900 grams with salmon pearls at $160. You enjoyed every bit of your meal up until you received the bill. We did give you a discount of $10 off the price. Even though we did not have too! We sold many many scampi and pastas at this price and we only had compliments, just like you had given today! Obviously you do not eat at this type of High end restaurants in Sydney and when the menus states MP it means the market moves up and down. Otto in the city have lobster pasta at MP and that is charged at $250 when you ask the waiter. We do not tell the price as people find it offensive. If you were concerned about the price, before ordering ASK the waiter the price. We treat all our patrons with respect. Today we respected you by giving you a discount but you cannot expect to have JUMBO SCAMPI for FREE!Therefore you are not welcome to return to my humble restaurant because how you treated my staff who work very very hard to please our very much respected customers. We wish you all the very best to find scampi cooked to perfection overlooking the Sydney harbour with well mannered managers and passionate people. .

Had dinner there last night for hubbys bday. Had the feast menu and was so much food we could barely finish it. The bread tasted like pretzels and were hot and fresh, yummy with the dips. The lamb was so tender & smoky. But the dessert - omg.Would make the 2hour trip from our house just for the dessert. Amazing! The staff were probably the most attentive we have really seen in Australia and the glasses were never empty. The waitress even sung my husband happy birthday which made it really special

I had been looking forward to coming here after having to make a difficult choice on a previous visit to North Sydney. Sadly I am significantly underwhelmed. After venturing out into the rain after continual downpour all day, the restaurant was about 1/3 full. After arriving and being seated I ordered quickly as I was dining alone (up for business). The bread took almost 30 minutes to arrive and whilst it was offered to be removed from the bill, the mains came out almost at the same time. The lamb was cooked well and delicious, but unbalanced as a main meal with only meat and then the acidity of the beetroot and tomato. After eating the meal I have been roundly ignored for the next 20 minutes, so I decided to write this review.Despite wanting to order dessert, no one has bothered to even venture over or enquire to my needs. They haven't even looked over to catch their eye.Update- I did just manage to get their attention and request the panna cotta. Thankfully it came quickly and although very tasty, is not worth the 14 for half a strawberry and a measley amount of fairy flossy. The food was nice but sadly the experience is not worth it.Hi there, I am so sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience. While we are glad that you were able to enjoy your food, i would like to offer my apologies that service was lacking on this occasion. We were locals of Tarboosh up until last year and ate there frequently, as well as often ordering through deliveroo. We have always been massive fans and loved the food.We returned on a Saturday night, going out of our way driving 20 minutes just to go to Tarboosh. We confidently ordered our regular main only to be disappointed when it appeared. They now have an alternative, more expensive menu in place for weekends. The regular “mixed grill” that we have had on so many occasions is now literally just some grilled meats. Previously, it was the grilled meats plus a small portion of tabouli and dips all served together on one large plate. It was the perfect blend. Picking up on our confusion, a waitress then abruptly told us that it’s a different menu on weekends now and that it’s different to what we might have previously known. We were extremely disappointed, and also felt like we should have been sat on the “naughty step” for not picking up on the menu change. The new “mixed grill” of just meats for $25 was, in our opinion, a bit steep for what it was.The food is still tasty but having an alternative and more expensive menu for weekends has lost our repeat business on principle.

It wasn’t a lot but it was enough to fill us up. The staff were really lovely. Dark inside but not gloomy. Very efficient and busy. Probably wise to book.

Want a generous serving of the best home-cooked tasting food this side of a Greek grandma's kitchen, all well-presented in a friendly, comfortable setting? We have been frequenting Xenos for 17 years and have never been disappointed. A wide choice of meals to suit all tastes and the consistently high quality is amazing. My husband's favourites are the seafood spaghetti (generous serve but too good to stop eating) and delicious schnitzel while I enjoy the chicken salads - caesar and quinoa are equally good. They do a good barramundi, too. The cakes and desserts are, quite simply, mouthwatering. Xenos always delivers and Dennis and co deserve their longstanding success. At 50 years, this place deserves heritage recognition.
