The food is good, however their attitude towards customers leaves room for A LOT of improvement. One good example of this: their opening hours - never count on the fact that they will have the kitchen open within the hours (for lunch or dinner) mentioned on-line. It really is a gamble whether or not they feel like opening the kitchen and for this “priviledge” you have to drive all the way to the south of the island. In many cases there are much better options out there, rather than taking the gamble to see if they are in a good mood that day.Hi SirWould like first of all to thank you for pointing out that we do serve good food, regarding our opening hours i would like to know when you came to the restaurant during opening hours and the kitchen was closed so that as the owner of the restaurant i would be able to look into the matter. Please note that Only Kitchen is open for lunch from Tuesday to Friday. Saturday to Monday and Public holidays Pizzeria is open also for lunch from 12.30 to 15.00Looking forward to hearing from [email protected] RegardsHerbert Gatt

A Restaurant with a cheerful ambience, and the waiters always help you out on the menu. The food is genuine and the service is second to none. The portions were also generous, and the steak is juicy and prepared perfectly. The Pasta as well is al dente as it should be. Pizza is another strong link of this dining experience. Worth all the money paid and never let down after 9 visits. The reason why it scores high in this review, is because a constant excellent food and service throughout the meals I have eaten in this restaurant. A visit is a must if you are in Marsascala area and you are hungry enough to eat a decent sized tasty meal. Highly Recommended

Well-prepared and well-presented food in a nicely-designed interior, Tal-Famiglia Restaurant is a high end but not overly expensive option in Marsaskala. The sea bass with prawns in foil and the octopus stew were both tasty as were the side veggies, lightly battered and deep fried onion rings and the roasted potatoes. The portions were ample. Recommend!

If you are looking for a mouth-watering pizza on the island look no further. This restaurant has a wood oven pizza and is manned by three Neapolitan pizzaiolo. The restrooms were found spotlessly clean even on a busy Friday evening.I noticed that the owner is present on-site to ensure that quality and standards remain high at all times.I would certainly recommend Taninu Bistro to my friends and would visit again soon in the near future.

We had a good coffee here and returned for lunch.Lampuki was on the menu apparently the fish migrates between Sicily and Malta from the end of August until December and is very popular in Malta,it is listed as being like Dorado.as I have seen it in several restaurants I thought I would try it.The chef made a great job but I have to say the flavour was not to my taste and I would let it swim by unimpeded on its migration, however,I am in the minority.I am glad I tasted it but for me it was far more oily than Dorado. My partner enjoyed his Maltese burger ,the Italian white wine was very good as was the chocolate fondant with icecream .Service is very friendly and relaxed and we had a lovely leisurely lunch in the sunshine. The owner/chef takes pride in the food which is fresh with good ingredients. We will definitely return ,I will try a different fish next time.

Lovely staff serving excellent food right on the roadside at the harbour. Ate here twice but decided not to return because the tables are close together and it is impossible to avoid the smoke from people at other tables. I appreciate this is the norm in countries where it is not yet socially unacceptable to smoke near people who are eating but it was particularly pronounced.

Looking at both their online menu and the fact that this is TA's #1 for "fine dining", we expected to have something rally fancy. The clues should have been there when we arrived at 8pm - the only people in the restaurant.Lovely modern decor, but a very dated menu - things like duck à l'orange, chicken marsala and beef wellington. Prices are also relatively high by Malta standards. We opted for just a main course. My wife had the beef wellington: nicely cooked except that the pastry on the bottom was raw. The waitress said this was because the beef was medium-rare, but my wife is a brilliant home cook and said that the trick is to cook on a rack so the heat gets to it - sear the meat all round, higher heat for 25 minutes etc etc. I had the beef fillet, which was nicely cooked. The asparagus that came with both meals was way over-cooked, stringy and limp.Considering that we were on our own for an hour, service was quite poor. They did bring us two lots of free drinks at the end, which was nice. I wouldn't go back there again.€99 - definitely not worth the money!Dear David,Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and note that we are number 1 on TripAdvisor for fine dining, something we worked very hard to achieve. We are so fortunate that over 92% of our guests ranked us as either excellent or very good with the majority being 5 star.So we are very disappointed that you did not have the same experience and I did send you a private message to discuss your evening at 59.We appreciate your kind comments on our lovely decor and that we gave you two rounds of complimentary drinks. Regarding our "dated" menu these are classics and sit next to many contemporary dishes. However the menu is on the website, social media and at the front door and you stated that you did see the menu before dining with us so I am not sure why the comments calling it dated. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss further and ask you to get back to me on the message that I sent.We would love to welcome you back to 59 and show you what the majority of people experience.

As mains my husband took the pasta with gorgonzola and i with the sausage! Omg it was excellent! Since i was full i took the unfinished pasta with me and two days after it was even better! Will sure visit again! The owner / chef is also a very nice helpful person. Well done :)
