Myself and my wife spent 8 days on Lopud Island ,just off of Dubrovnik(Croatia)had a great time.During our stay we dined at a lovely Restaurant right next to the waters edge on about 6 occasions.It was called Konoba Riva the food was excellent and so to were the staff.Nothing was too much bother for them and I would highly recommend a visit.

Ate twice here, during our weeks stay, very quiet and no atmosphere the first visit, food was OK. Went the second time, as it was advertised all over the hotel as a specialty evening, however when we arrived, we were told that they were not doing that anymore. Too late to head outside, we ate there, started off well waiters attentive, food nice and prompt, however, and maybe because the hotel was closing for Winter the following day, service slowed right down, and the meal was fairly uninspiring. Given that this is not an inexpensive option, I believe they should try harder.Dear gordonmiller100,I'm so sorry if our Dalmar restaurant didn't fulfill your expectations.You're right that we are promoting some special nights, as we are doing also this summer, as well from local fresh dishes. My husband and I made a reservation for a private cabana and tasting menu experience when planning our anniversary holiday in Croatia. We had one day available in our itinerary to experience BOWA while on Sipan island, and when the day of our reservation arrived, the weather forecast was not ideal. The amazing staff at BOWA accommodated our reservation regardless of the forecasted rain and wind, even though all of their other reservations were moved to another day. We chose to take the rugged path from Sudurad, and that was an experience in and of itself; winding through nature with stone walls and heavy brush flanking your sides, and then all of a sudden the path drops you right into the heart of the BOWA experience. Due to the forecast we were the only two people present aside from the staff, and we felt like the luckiest two people in the world that day because it never even rained. The chef selected tasting menu was a culinary delight and each course was a complete surprise. Ivan, our server, was superb. He was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the local sources of our menu and recommended a fantastic bottle of wine to accompany it. Our BOWA experience exceeded all expectations, and has been a highlight of our holiday in Croatia.

We had reserved a table for lunch which was quite unnecessary and were greated by a very helpful waitress. Duscussing our order for oysters seabream and squid, the owner of the restaurant suddenly told our waitress that she spent too much time taking our order. He told her this quite sharply and impolitely and unnecessarily, we were quite agahst. We did not feel welcome in his restaurant at all. The food was excellent but the way the waitress was treated and his bullying of her will result in us never going back there.

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Croatia!!! Do not miss the opportunity to come here and have the most amazing food!!! The staff and the owner are very gracious and kind. This was one of the best food experiences we have had in Croatia.

I had dinner two times at the restaurant. Restaurant has beautiful terrace just by the sea, so we had dinner at the sunset and with romantic guitar melody. First time we ate penne with smoked salmon and tuna steak, both were delicious. Second time we ordered prawn buzzara, tuna and sea bliss... buzzara was amazing. Tuna and sea bliss were fresh and delicious. I really liked their courgette chips- it was so crispy and yummy. The service was nice and friendly. Since it was my birthday they gave me cheesecake with the candle.I like this place, it has amaizing vibe and food.

When visiting Lopud island this is an excellent restaurant to go for dinner. It is run by a lovely Croatian family who welcome into their home. The food is beautifully cooked and great value for money.If you want to try the lamb cooked under the bell make sure you order 24 hours in advance there are a few other dishes which need to be ordered in advance so check when booking as we didn't realise.They don't accept credit cards so remember to take cash.

Definately worth booking for a waterside tableNicola was a fantastic waiter.. Knowledgeable and making great recommendatations. The warm feta with thyme and honety is a must and the tuna steak sensational! The squid lovely and crispy and the local Dirty tagliatelle is rich and hearty. Try the great value local white wine Totally loved this place

We are back in this restaurant second time, but we regretted this now !During to wait our ordered dishes we want to play cards. The waiter said itâs not aloud in this restaurant , go and play in CasinoWe are very surprised, we never hear something like this beforeThe dinner what we eat wasnât so good , we never return back ! We think that they have to much demanding for what they offer ...We are really sorry you didn't like dining with us at Konoba Bogo. We consider our guests to be always right, and we are always willing to help making their meal with us as good as it can possibly get. However, in this case, unfortunately, we have to write you back to explain some things, since you obviously have hard time understanding our point of view. In Croatia it is legally FORBIDDEN to play cards in the restaurants, as it is consider gambling. We only want to OBEY LAWS of our country, not disrespect you as a guest. Also, you as tourist have to obey the laws of this country. It is saddening for us to hear you didn't understand that, and you are making us look as the negative guys. You formed your opinion about our restaurant on the fact we said "no" to cards - which we did to avoid going to prison for up to three years (you can check the laws). Also, since you are returning costumers, you obviously didn't think our food is not good and we are very sorry you changed your opinion based on us acting to respect laws. We would love to have you back with us for a meal for the third time, now that we cleared what wasn't understood.
