This restaurant is always crowded, and it takes at least 10-15 minutes to place your order. But now I know why: the food is absolutely incredibly tasty. Everything is fresh, prepared on the spot, and grilled to perfection.Totally worth the wait. The menu has many options to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable.

The venue is located in the studentâs quarter on the Zuelpicher Strasse, a main road in Cologne. Parking is possible on the road, sparse though. The restaurant is decorated with a lot of pictures of the movies of Federico Felini. The menu is simply gorgeous. We had a lot variation of the standard Italian cuisine which were a delight. I had a Carpaccio of Roast beef but warm! Yummy. As second course I had Risotto with Aspargus. Yummy too. The main course was a huge loup de mer in a salt crust which I shared with a friend. The wine was expertly selected by the boss himself and was great fit. The service was extremely warm hearted.

I had seen the reviews for Sonder and thought we would try it. Despite the long walk from our hotel by the river we found the restaurant easily and were seated early with a friendly welcome by a young man who said he was brought up in Eastern Germany so apologised for his excellent English! He explained the menu to us and we had a couple of courses, shared a desert and had a bottle of wine, a beer and two bottles of water. The food was brilliant, the home cured mackerel, the bulgar stuffed peppers and the marinaded salmon with glass noodles were all fantastic as was a citrus creme brulee. Good value too at about 85 euros. Would highly recommend.

Mezedopolio
The venue is located in the studentâs quarter of Cologne at the corner of two major streets. The restaurant has a small inside dining room and even smaller outside dining area. The menu is medium sized. The restaurant is famous for their Mezze, the Greek version of Tapas. We had a dozen of dishes. Most of them were delicious but some of them lacked of seasoning, and I mean not that salt was missing, I don't like salt. The service was very nice and professional. Unfortunately they don't accept cash only. I was not aware of this, and had to get money from a more or less far ATM. I was very embarrassed in front of my friends.

Very nice restaurant, with friendly servers and all very helpful with questions and adjustments to orders. They also served the appetizers fairly quickly, but then gave us time to eat and then digest them before bringing our main courses. We ordered the Warm and Cold appetizer dishes, with cucumbers, tomatoes, fish eggs, a salty olive pate, and the hot had fried zucchinis and eggplants, tomatoes with cheese, shrimps, and some other stuff that all tasted good, but if these are ordered, be wary on how much main courses are, or one could end up too full! The Grilled Plate had round French fries which were really delicious, with a nicely cooked meat; the Schweine Spiss was a kabob with 3 pieces of well cooked meat, a small salad on the side, and good roasted potato; The Lachs Filet, salmon with red beet risotto âmoatâ around the fish, looked great and tasted great. The salmon was a nice thick filet, tender and flaky; the Weisser Spargel plate had Italian and Spanish cold meats and a Hollandaise sauce over the asparagus, which were long thick pieces and not over-cooked; the Lamm Schulter was cooked with a red wine sauce that was very enjoyable along with asparagus; and the dish I ordered, the Wolfsbarsch, Sea bass, was nicely presented and cooked, a deliciously sweet square of polenta cooked with the crème brule sauce, plus I ordered the Spargel soup, which was really good tho the asparagus pieces were a bit under-cooked; overall this meal wasnât too filling and I ate the polenta as desert, not too sweet, but didnât need any dessert after the meal.

By coincidence we ended up in this restaurant (close to large shopping centre). We had a mix (warm) starter, which was already excellent. As main meal we had a steak and an entrecote that were perfectly cooked as requested. We will be back here to try the fish (fresh fish!!!) and again for a good steak. And...the red house wine is a very proper (Portuguese) wine. Compliments!

I am Greek, so I don't often find exceptionally good Greek restaurants in foreign lands, but I'm happy to say that Filoxenia is one such exceptionally good restaurant. The food is top notch with some dishes that have a richness of flavour neither my mother nor grandmother could achieve.I liked it so much that I went back three next night. The 2nd night I had the tuna main which is easily the best tuna dish I've had this year ! The picture shows a half eaten dish because I ate half of it before even thinking about taking a picture. The service is excellent with efficient, friendly staff and the prices are very reasonable. I very strongly recommend this place for both Greeks are non Greeks alike.

We had a business dinner there. The location is not great but the restaurant is brilliant. Waiter and cook are a really nice and friendly couple. The food is very freshly cook and of excellent quality. Wine was delicious too. I particularly enjoyed desert (death by chocolate = really to die for!!)

Just off the main street (the tram route) opposite the church is a typical Italian restaurant. Good food and wine. Friendly service with us communicating in a strange mixture of Italian, German and English. Certainly busy, but well able to cope. Be prepared for the 'strange' pictures/murals on the wall. They 'portray' three of the four seaons but we never found Summer.
