Excellent quality location and facilities. Friendly staff. Only downfall is that Breakfast is not available. Plenty of chargeback venues around town which help when travelling for business. Would stay here again.

TERAMA Ski Lodge

budget accommodation that is not suitable for family or couples

Reviewed By rzluo

Affordability is probably the only reason you would choose this accommodation up the mountain. the lodge is 10 mins walk from the village; closest bus station is 50 meters' away. Pure distance is not the problem. carrying all the snow gears to travel this distance is the issue, especially with small family members. room size is what I call below average. the lodge is clean; however, showers and bathrooms are shared facilities. rooms have no locks. there is continental style / self-served breakfast. however it feels odd the lodge staff eat the same time as you eat. And you are consistently reminded dont talk too loud / dont run / leave your wet boots outside the lodge etc etc. all of these made you feel being watched.

Good bistro. The hotel has been restored to a point but could use more TLC. Friendly staff. The outside rooms have quite a lot of truck and car noise. Had to turn the fridge off in our room off over night as it was noisy. Nice verandah and Breakfast was supplied. Would recommend ensuite room. Not an easy access place.

Still good. ?

I stayed 3 years ago and liked, so tried it again. It was as good as I remembered. Quiet aircon, furnish but comfy bed, plenty of hot water. Only difference to three years ago was the new bathrooms are older now. They were clean and still ‘white’ after that time. It’s not flash, but considering it’s in prime Victorian weekender territory the price is ok too.

Great potential but needs a lot of work.

Reviewed By amgreave

The room we booked at Hotel High Plains was a generous size with a table and chairs, kitchenette, generous cupboard space, lounge and a pleasant outlook. HOWEVER…… On arrival it took some time to find someone (eventually in the bar area) to speak to and book in and no one at all to be found to check out. The entry area was grubby and poorly lit and had only an ice cream sales trolley in it. The stairways and corridor were dirty and had cobwebs and dead insects on the ceilings. Carpets were stained and old furniture and rubbish was stacked on the landing. In the room the furniture and kitchenware were mismatched and cutlery set incomplete. One wall light was missing its lampshade. I had to clean every surface in the room before putting anything down….there was thick dust everywhere and sticky marks on the kitchen surfaces. The bathroom floor was also dirty. We ate one night at the Stones Throw Restaurant but would not return. The food was well below average and the liquor prices prohibitive compared to the adjacent venue.

Fantastic and the best accommodation in Falls Creek

Reviewed By John K

This was our first snow holiday in Falls Creek and staying in an Austrian chalet was a bonus. We felt like staying in the Austrian Alps, the chalet Austrian - Christmas deco was something to see. Our kids are still raving about the chalet and want to go back for their next snow holiday. Their service was second to none and the host (Jerry) worked tirelessly to make our stay an enjoyable one. Jerry has a wast knowledge about Falls creek and the snowfields and advised us what to do, where to go and also recommended a fantastic ski hire shop - very affordable rates. We will be back next year. We could not recommend this place enough - Our family had an enjoyable stay in Karelia Alpine Lodge.
