I live in PA and have tried several Sushi places which have been recommended from friends, but I was disappointed. I was so looking forward to a new Sushi place that had also opened in the area and easy to get to, but NOT GOOD! Visiting Fort Lee and eating at Hachi Sushi has spoiled me rotten bc I just have not been able to find anything as delicious as what they serve. Appetizers and rolls are out of this world! Even the Sushi place at the Borgata fails in comparison to what this small, intimate and adorablely decorated place has. As stated... You will not be disappointed!

I will agree with the majority of people....PJ Sushi is great!! Nothing can beat their salmon or miso soup. They have excellent prices and although you eat with plastic utensils...it doesn't matter. Food is very, very, fresh and good and the place is clean. If you want to have great sushi at a great price...go to PJ's...and order the special lunch...unbelievable price...hate to use the word cheap, but that is exactly what it is... p.s. I always get the salmon sashimi. can't be beat at any price.

Fort Lee is a great foodie city for those of us who love Asian cuisine. Ramen Setagaya is up there on top of the heap. I had fried oysters which were freshly fried and delish! I followed that with a large bowl of gyolou ramen, a garlicky delight, topped with perfectly BBQ pork.

We ordered the steak with garlic chips and it was absolutely delicious, I definitely recommend it. Also the seafood spicy food, it was actually quite spicy but we enjoy spicy food, so it was great. They have so manny good dishes on the menu. Also they have happy hour 5-8 pm, great prices and if you order pitcher of beer it is actually worth it, big pitcher for 10 dlls. Nice restaurant in downtown Fort Lee.

This is why I am loving any Korean restaurants. They will give you endless free side dishes. You could end up with stuffed stomach if you don't get easy on those free appetizers.Their Sashimi is always fresh. This restaurant is always crowded any evening.Call them up before you go and make sure you don't have to wait. Otherwise at least 30min to an hour waiting list.We had so many visits and never disappointed. Try and you will like it.

Hiura Restaurant

Authentic Japanese restaurant. The owner is the sushi chef offering "omakase" chef's special of top of the line sushi and sashimi combinations. This is the best Japanese Restaurant in northern NJ. Please list them.

One of the best sushi restaurants in the NYC area happens to be in Fort Lee, NJ. Hiura is reasonably priced (unlike the the other side of the Hudson) and very high quality without all the pretentiousness.More than half the clientele are Japanese, the other half mainly Korean. Among Asians (and others) in the know, this is definitely the place to go.

Service was fine. Ambience was minimal. NJ Diners are more decorative than this. My partner ordered a Rammen soup with noodles, pork, mushroom, corn, etc. It was very tasty. I ordered the chicken teriyaki platter which came with white rice (they don't have brown rice), a bowl of miso soup, and a salad of daikon (Japanese radish). My chicken was delicious, not overcooked, soft and tender, and the teriyaki sauce was not overly salty.Bring cash ! No credit cards accepted.

Soba Noodle Azuma

Reviewed By thenobelfoodie

4.50 - rounded up for great service!Coming into this establishment, I was very impressed with the great ambiance and friendliness of the staff. They definitely make sure you feel like your in a different country with their hospitality.Upon looking at the menu, it was very extensive with soba and udon. I have been here multiple times and was craving soba each time. I am not sure with the udon, but for soba, you can state the size of your soba serving (100g, 200g, or 300g) all for the same price. So if you are hungry, go get that 300g size! They also seem to have rotating specials that are worth checking out.One appetizer dish that I liked getting here is the assorted sashimi platter. It comes served on top a bed of ice, which gives it a nice presentation. I had no complains about the sashimi and it tasted pretty good. Getting the sashimi is a good contrast of having something light before I go into eating a very carb-heavy soba dish. One of the soba dishes I like getting is the Shrimp and vegetable tempura ball soba noodle. I have gotten it hot and it tastes great. Take note that you do not get much shrimp in this dish (I got 3 small pieces and it is not like a typical order of shrimp tempura) but the vegetable tempura was good. However, I do feel the pieces I got were good enough to complement the hot soba I have.Like I mentioned in the beginning, I loved the service here. Everyone was very polite and helpful with navigating the menu and all the various things you can order.

I can't rave enough about this place. I've been coming here for years, and am never disappointed. I usually opt for the Karakuchi Ramen, which has a strong kick (beware for those who can't handle their spices). It's very authentic, down to the Japanese cartoon-y music they play. Gyozas are very popular too, but I've found the Gyu-don and other rice bowl too small for $5.
