I am not a huge fan seafood so I was a little apprehensive about going to this restaurant when I saw the fish only menu. However I was able to find this gym on the menu. BBQ pork Japanese style rice bowl. Awesome!

Had an excellent dinner at this small restaurant. They even had their menu in English, pictures, description and prices all together. Had the local speciality hotate (scallops) curry and a mixture of sashimi on a bowl of rice which also came with clam (tiniest ever) miso soup. Just an excellent meal.service was excellent, but then isn't all Japanese service excellent and staff were ever so friendly and helpful, even offered the menu in English without us asking.Right next door to the station and close to hotels.

This place was a blast and with very good food too. On the entertainment side, there is a shamisen performance, dancing with semi-obligatory audience participation, drumming and general fun. That part alone would make me recommend this place. But even better, the food is really good. Things to definitely try: the corn tempura, the deep fried garlic and the hon-maguro (sashimi in our case) as well as the grilled scallops. The other food was good as well - really nothing disappointed. They have an English menu and drink menu so even without Japanese youâll be okay to order. Overall a really enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.

I was there alone and assigned a seat on the ground floor. Despite I could not speak Japanese, the staff were trying hard to recommend dishes with body language and pointing at the menu. When I asked for a set of five-type sashimi, the staff kept asking me if I could finish it.The food was great, sashimi was fresh, and ordered a few local dishes. Portion of food was not small, for those eating alone, they may order two or three dishes for the first round. The wine / sake menu offered lots of choices at a reasonable price. Seems there was not much restaurants that open until quite late and they were quite full, recommend making advance booking.I ordered a iced tea, 5 types of sashimi, Salmon egg with rice, fried egg with some kind of scallop, steamed shells, the bill was around 4300yen.

Well prepared unagi at this old Aomori Institution. You can choose unagi set meals with two to three pieces of unagi. Drinks come out with little snacks; a nice feature. Service is friendly and foreign visitors get little gifts of apple juices and honey when they leave. Nice touch. We would definitely go back.*** Please note, I am only reviewing tourist restaurants in Aomori. Aomori is A CRUISE SHIP PORT with 4 to 5 huge ships visiting every week, barfing out hundreds to thousands of the worst kinds of tourists onto the streers of Aomori. FOODIES...If you go three or four blocks south of Shinmachi street there are many excellent locals-only restaurants, where we did most of our dining. However, because this is a CRUISE SHIP PORT TOWN, I will not do the local patrons of those restaurants the Injustice of posting their restaurant's locations in a public forum. Go find them for yourself.

Walked to this restaurant from our hotel on previous recommendation on trip advisor. On arrival offered table or counter and chose counter, one young staff speaks reasonable English and also had a menu in English. Good food, Good service, no communication problems here and would recommend if you like Sushi this is the place to go in Aomori, fresh and reasonably priced.

The market is actually a row of shops and unless you slide the door open, you wouldn't really noticed there is market inside after all. However, you can use google maps to guide you easily anyway.Coupons system is used here, basically you can have 2 people filled up in less than 2000yen.After checking at all markets (Sapporo, Hakodate, Aomori, Tokyo - along the way from Hokkaido to Tokyo), we found that the seafood in the north is definitely unbeatable comparing to the one in the south. And to compare the price and quality, I would say this is the better place to get Hokkaido-grade seafood, but at Tokyo-grade price. We do noticed that in Tsukiji market, the seafood are priced much more higher than in Sapporo. Hence, if you have a chance to stop by Aomori, do make a visit to this market to splurge on the freshest seafood you can get!And I particularly love the clam-based miso soup too! To dine in here, you will need to purchase the coupons at the counter, either 1300 or 650yen - the amount depends on how many tickets you'll need to get all the dishes you want. You may also want to compare the tickets required at different stalls (some stalls require 2 tickets for a Tamagoyaki and another stall requires only 1 ticket--- sizes varies).Feel free to roam around the 3 lines of stalls before deciding! Also, if you are a big eater you might need the "big" rice which costs you 2 tickets. Regular size rice costs 1 ticket but that is adequate for most people as you can always top up with more dishes if you want to.

If you've been looking for a truly memorable bowl of Ramen, you will find it at Aji no Sapporo Onoshi (å³ã®æå¹å¤§è¥¿). Their signature ramen, the Curry Milk Miso Ramen has a delicious broth that has an amazing and memorable flavor. The blend of curry, milk, butter and miso give the broth a rich flavor, but one that is not overpowering. You will not be disappointed.

Had a dinner here around 5 PM while the restaurant still had vacant seats on Monday evening.Scallops Combination Dinner provides sashimi and butter-baked scallops - oh, they are fresh, hearty flavored and sweet.Very popular for both locals and visitors, people were lined up to the sidewalk for their turns to seat and dine, by the time I left the restaurant around 5:40 PM.Average interior décor. Not spacious in terms of dining space.

Some friends from Tokyo were camping near Aomori so we met up for lunch at this highly- rated sushi restaurant. Although there have been long lines waiting to get in every evening, (itâs near my hotel, the JAL City Aomori) there were no lines for lunch. it was busy, but there was still ample seating available.I opted for a Sashimi Moriwase (mixed types of sashimi) and got Maguro (tuna) Ika (squid) Amaebi (sweet shrimp), Saba (mackerel), Akagai (red shellfish), Hotate (scallop) and a white fish we could not quite figure out, sort of a cross between Hamachi (yellowtail) and Grouper. The fish was super fresh and delicious. The Hotate had been sliced and a thin leaf of some thing had been inserted in the middle; whatever it was, the taste was great. The Miso Soup was delivered piping hot. The rice was really good and had a taste with just a wee bit more vinegar and sweet than usual, really distinctly different and good.Itâs excellent.
