Located so close to the airport, I came here one day for late lunch after a long morning meeting nearby. My local contacts seemed to know the owner of this restaurant and they were greeted with cheek kisses on both side. When we arrived, our table was ready and promptly got seated at the corner. They have English menu available but server doesn't speak or understand English fully. I did my usual by pointing at the food I wanted to order, server compared to German menu to understand which food I wanted. We started with a couple of appetizers. Bruschetta was very good. Olive oil used was amazingly good. High quality olive oil. Sample appetizers came with Caprese, Prosciutto, thin slices octopus to name a few. I really liked this octopus. Some at my table couldn't accept the idea of eating octopus, so I kindly thanked them and ate most of them on the plate. For main, I ordered grilled Dover sole. It was cooked perfection, bones came out easily, I ate the whole fish very quickly. I wish I knew the type of olive oil they used.. Loved it so much, would have brought home if possible. Perhaps next time if that happens.I was told pizza here is good as well. Pizza served here was 12 inch (30cm), some on our table ordered pizza and they all seemed pleased.

The name "Osteri" comes from the word "Host", the Innkeeper. An innkeeper knows how to serve guests the best classic dishes typical of the region Veneto. The Osteria Veneta looks like the classic Italian with a heart. The heart of every Osteria is the kit
Because of the excellent reviews we decided to go for dinner. Atmosphere is nice, the menu only in Italian and you need the waiter for translation. However, the waiters are very friendly and helpfulUnfortunately the food was only average, nothing special but also nothing to complain. We just expected more based on the good reviews.

Nice restaurant with a good ambiance, especially the outdoor seating area. We tried the grilled calamar that was served on a bed of roquette with polenta cakes. We also had the pasta with crab sticks. We found the food to be good, but could have been better with more adequate seasoning. Overall, the service was fine. food was good and the setting really nice.

As Italian expat leaving in Southern Carinthia, i have to admit that Al Tavoliere is by far the most authentic Italian restaurant in the area i visited. They offer a vast choice of traditional dishes, including fresh fish and mussels, meat, homemade pasta and fresh diaries - directly delivered from the south of Italy -, as well as creative and delicious pizzas and homemade desserts. The restaurant has a beautiful patio overlooking a romantic small private lake too.Being a family-run Italian restaurant, the service and the atmosphere can sometimes look a bit too informal, at least for Austrian/German standards; but in fact that's part of the "experience", and can be really enjoyable.I recommend to pay a visit to Al Tavoliere to anybody living in the area or visiting this beautiful piece of Austria!Gentilissimo, grazie mille!!!

Pulcinella is the place to go for those wishing to sit in the choreographic main square in St Veit. The restaurant offers generous outdoor table seating, agreeable service and quick turn-around, which is why the place is always busy, especially in good weather. What is lacks is substance, however. Lack-luster dishes buried in heavy sauces, creams, raw garlic and salt in the vain attempt to provide substance to a plain base. What is really shocking for an Italian restaurant is the poor (yet inexpensive) house wine paired with expensive dishes. Given the restaurant price-point, that house wine could easily be upgraded. The view was nice but my tastebuds will gladly skip another visit.
