I thought for a while not to post a review and hope that the Wirtshaus Kunsthandwerk will forever remain a hidden secret! But this would be unfair and would not do the owners justice! Let me start with the location: The restaurant is wrongly (by mistake or on purpose ) listed under Klagenfurt. It is not in Klagenfurt but near the village of Liebenfels, half an hour (some 30km) away from Klagenfurt. But it is well worth driving this extra distance!
The owners Hannes und Angelika Magnet both have day jobs and only in the evening they basically open their own home (yes, they live there!) and offer you unparalleled hospitality and spectacular food created by Hannes using only the freshest high quality ingredients. If you for example like to eat fish Hannes will go and catch it for you from their own spring water pond.
The place is most romantic – whether you sit outside (as we did since it was a warm summer evening) or inside (which I will do as soon as there is a cooler day). No need to talk about the quality of the food – it meets highest expectations. But be aware that the portions are huge – so if you like to eat two or even three courses ask for half portions. We did not know this and had real trouble to finish everything.
The wine list is wisely composed and do ask Angelika for advice – she knows her stuff!
And one last point: you need to visit when you have time and like to enjoy a long pleasant evening. This is not a fast food place – this is a “slow food” place (and I mean this in a positive way). Since the owners are doing everything (from kitchen to service) on their own you need to be patient – and just enjoy the atmosphere and an extra bottle of wine!

I was there now my third time and I was never disappointed! This traditional restaurant is excellent in his relaxed old school style. My family enjoyed a superb meal at Toscana tonight.
We booked a table and ate in the garden area which was nice.
Service was great with all staff very friendly and helpful and the food was both plentiful and of excellent quality.
Drinks, starters, mains and coffee cost only €59 euros which was great value and we will definitely be returning.

Found this place via TripAdvisor and did not regret it. The best grill in Klagenfurt. We ordered Mixed grill where you will get 4 types of meat, delicious barbicue souce, french fries and two types of other souce. Simply delicious.
Next time in Klagenfurt absolutly my choice.

vor einigen monaten erfolgte hier eine neuübernahme. die speisekarte ist auf traditionelle gerichte aufgebaut. die qualität der speisen ist gut, allerdings ist mit längeren wartezeiten zu rechnen, sofern gleichzeitig mehrere gäste bestellungen aufgeben. leider gilt das gleiche für das service. es scheint , dass leider zu manchen zeiten eine unterbesetzung gegeben ist! ansonsten ist die küche durchwegs empfehlenswert, die offenen weine sind von guter qualität, auch das preisleistungsverhältnis ist ok und nicht zu vergessen es gibt einen schönen, naturschattenspendenden gastgarten.

On a biking trip with friends , who are from the area , we stopped here for lunch. Our friends knew this restaurant which is beautifully situated in an old tower of the former town fortifications.
The terras , where we had our lunch , is right on a part of these fortifications. Just magnificant.
The suggested light summer lunch was fantastic as was the wine suggested by the friendly owner , whose wife is the chef .
Truely a gem in Sankt Veit to keep in mind and visit

This was the second time i visited the restaurant and again the food quality was excellent. The Management couple is super-friendly and professional.
For me, this is one of the best restaurants in Carinthia Province, Austria.
I look forward to visit them again on my next trip home....

The first impression already was a good one. The staff being italians and the nice decor. But that's not the important thing about a Ristorante, it's the food, isn't it?
The Antipasti (we ordered some to have a repertoire) were tasteful and most of the time quite simple, which is the real deal if you wanna look at the quality, that actually is astonishing. The main course, a Triglidae (gallinella) came straight out of the oven with delicious side dishes. It simple blew me away as I've hardly ever had that hell of a fish in Austria.
The wine menu is huge and represents Italy's greatest vine maker.
If I may offer you one simple hint: Go there!

Nice restaurant with a good ambiance, especially the outdoor Seating area. We tried the grilled calamar that was served on a bed of roquette with polenta cakes. We also had the pasta with crab sticks. We found the food to be good, but could have been better with more adequate seasoning. Overall, the service was fine. food was good and the setting really nice.
