Differdange (Luxembourgish: Déifferdeng pronounced [ˈdɜɪ̯fɐdeŋ], German: Differdingen) is a commune with town status in south-western Luxembourg, 17 miles (27 km) west from the country's capital. It lies near the borders with Belgium and France and it is located in the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. With a population of around 26,000, Differdange is the country's third largest city. It is also the main town of the commune, and other towns within the commune include Lasauvage, Niederkorn, and Oberkorn.

We have enjoyed two meals at this restaurant, which apparently is operated by a husband-and-wife duo. The food is outstanding, the prices are reasonable, and they have a very nice outdoor seating, which is great during many months in Differdange.Navigating the menu requires an understanding of French, although one who knows the names of a lot of Italian dishes could find his/her way. Although the wife of the duo speaks only limited English, the husband (who also cooks) is quite fluent in English and can stop by the table if needed. The homemade desserts are very good, too.

Just to be clear right at the beginning of my review. This restaurant is definitely no ultra stylish, bloated, michelin starred kind of a restaurant.If you want that style of establishement, don't go there.The outside of the restaurant is....well let's say "used". The interior could use some refurbishment too BUT to be honest......that place is just amazing. Truth is, the outside and inside looks oldish but who cares if it adds to the coziness of your evening. Right after you step in you're welcomed by the friendly staff with a handshake and a smile followed by a prompt seating.The menu offers a good choice of different italian, french and portuguese dishes and some nice wines which make a good accompaniment to your choice of meal.I would appreciate a larger choice of portuguese dishes though, due to the fact that the owner and staff are from this country. I'm pretty sure that the staff would be pleased to present you a larger variety of their culinary culture.So if you fancy a good inexpensive meal and you don't care about the "simplicity" of the place, this would definitely be the place were you want to spend some time.For larger groups the restaurant also offers a separate room which can be arranged for your desires.TIP: If you are not certain what to choose and you are in for some meat, ask for the horse steak with their red porto sauce and some tagliatellis (not on the menu) . This dish is just pure awesomeness!For the pasta lovers I recommend the Macaroni San Marino...just mouthwatering

De tout Luxembourg! Les meilleures pâtes,et nous sommes difficiles!Pizzas excellentes,sous forme de 3 tailles différentes,dont les géantes sont impressionnantes!Les pâtes sous forme de 2 tailles,pas chères,copieuses,et savoureuses,comapré à certains resto de la ville!Livraison gratuite.Terrasse sympathique en été.Certes,le cadre est un peu kitsch,mais le propriétaire,et personnel super sympa,et le plus important,est dans notre assiette,et pour nous,1 fois/semaine!

I am a regular at the Schräinerei, and what I appreciate most besides the excellent food & drinks (veggie & vegan options included!) is the impeccably friendly service. Defo a place I'd recommend. Tip: if you go for dinner, the volume of the music is increased at around 10pm to switch over to party mood, so not the best place if you want to chat til midnight or have a romantic dinner.

The town may be dreary - this is the infamous industrial south of Luxembourg after all - but there's absolutely no fault to be found with this sleek and stylish eatery. The fish and meat dishes are as delectable as the pizza and pasta, and service is friendly and efficient.

Restaurant-pizzeria Stella Rosa was a surprise to me. It is located in a calm neighborhood. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes it cozy and elegant. I was welcomed by the host, who speaks English, and settled me in a very good table. The menu is big and with a great variety of dishes. The waitress are very welcoming, helpful and polite. The meals are huge, tasty and well cooked. I had a calzone, which made my plate look small. The wine was also good. The same is applied to dessert: enormous Chocolate mousse. The price is fair and good. And finally the soundtrack is amazing (Queen, Bryan Adams among other classics). I really recommend this restaurant. If I could suggest: add an English menu. None of the waitress spoke English, hence I had to "Google Translate" everything I needed. Though they were extremely helpful, I know this makes other people waiting. Still, I will definitely go back. There are more dishes I need to try. Good Italian food with a lively atmosphere. Efficient friendly service. Clearly they like kids. Kids menu includes pizza, Spaghetti Bolognese and spaghetti carbonara with ice cream and a gift (bubbles). For the adults, a free grappa after the meal. Very warm and informal.
