Reviewed By Jonathan BSuch a lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Everything was spectacularly clean!!! A great job by the house keeping team. The rooms and bathrooms were nice and spacious, ours even had a full size bath. They provided a cot for our one year old daughter as requested. Our room was on the front near the main road, but the windows did a fantastic job of blocking out the noise and the air con kept the room nice and cool. There was a lift to the make journey up to our room with the pram effortless. Breakfast was fresh and varied. Pancakes, yogurts, salad, fresh orange juice, bacon, eggs, sausages etc. There was also restaurant in the same building which was consistently busy. Next time we are in Luxembourg we will give it a try. We would highly recommend Hotel Pax!!

Reviewed By VieltravellerClose to a train station and a little farther away from a bus, both going direct to the city center of Luxembourg. Hotel is nice, room in a way very modern but walls and doors unfortunately are paper thin so you hear everything from the hallway and your neighbours. Luckily, earplugs were provided in the bathroom.

Great rooms
Reviewed By Saba AI read reviews on the hotel on Trip Advisor a night before my departure, so I was very nervous. However, I was very pleased with my choice. Yes, the entrance is small and there is no lobby, but I personally don't travel to hang around in the lobby. The reception is not there 24/7 but there are numbers you can call in case of an emergency. The hotel is in a noisy neighbourhood, but I could not hear anything when inside. The rooms are decent size and clean, the beds comfortable, the ACs working. The bathroom and showers are great, there is a hairdryer, and basic toiletries and slippers provided. There are a few super markets, a pharmacy and a wide range of restaurants within walking distance. The main station is also near by (which is not the best place, but I never felt unsafe) which means you can easily catch a bus or train to where ever you want to go. The staff was nice and courteous and spoke fluent English. Overall, I had zero issues.

Bad experience
Reviewed By MaartenPGWe had booked a room directly with the hotel clearly indicating that we came with two people, and there was no issue reported during check-in. Then when we checked out the hotel claimed we had to pay an additional €35 because the room was only for one person. It was somewhere in the small print. Even though we made clear that from all correspondence it was clear we came with two people, the receptionist forced us pay the additional €35 which made it more expensive than a booking through booking.com. On top of this, the air conditioning was not functioning well, which required us to open the window to a loud street. As a result, my wife only had three hours of sleep. We will never get back to this hotel.

Good hotel for a trip to beautiful Luxembourg
Reviewed By Ela_S_87The staff is extraordinary friendly. There are many outlets and USB-ports in the room. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. There is a bus stop (line 28 or 222 to the center) very close to the hotel (busses in Luxembourg are free!). Breakfast was good and plenty (but not served as a buffet because of the restrictions due to covid-19). Our room was quite small. There is no fridge and/or electric kettle in the room. The lift did not work. There is no a/c.

Reviewed By GhentfreakFriendly welcome, rooms are clean and have all what you need. Be careful the parking is public and needs to be payed with a maximum of 2 hours. Staff is very helpful, breakfast is bit too Italian. The breakfast room is pleasant. Excellent quality/price. The bed has sharp edges and the bed comfort is not the best.

Reviewed By Woodrow15We had an excellent experience at the Hostellerie Stafelter. Beautiful hotel, comfortable guest room, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. The location makes for an easy commute to the city, airport, and all major highways. We stayed here while visiting family in Walferdange.

TERRIBLE !!! Never come back !!! This hotel is good only for one thing - for avoid !

This hotel would deservs less than it ! 1) The staff - absolute pretenders," theatre acttors", unfriendly and unwilling 2) Food alias breakfast = 2 croissant + 1 slice of cheese + 1 slice of ham + glass of juice ( and they obligatory ask you: "Do you want it", ?? , otherwise you can ONLY croissant wit Nutella and marmelade have) but I think even in the " Street homeless people kitchen" you get more...oh yes , coffee was also in disposition. 3) Half-clean bathroom with cloged washbowl 4) Quality of the room - more than below the basic level ( especialy if you book " cheaper room" for 75 EUR per night (??)) turned on to the very noissy and busy street, without possibility to drop down roller shutters ( they was broken!) . ( rooms 2 and very probably room nr. 1) Many time before, on many places I reserved the room even that I paid less hotel managment (receptionists) were kindly , friendly and able to give us even better and more better/expensive room/appartman that we reserved , if room was free - the act of professionality and self promotion. At the contrary, receptionist in this " so called hotel" even that I kindly beg him in advnce may we have some " more quiet room" , answered something like: No - you paid cheaper room and you should be accomodated in cheaper room !!! But do not worry your room ( nr. 2) is very quiet after 21 h"... I have accepted everything with no comment.Then has started disaster... From 19:00 until 24:00 we were faced very loud noise in our room. Throwing things, banging, knocking, throbbing, rolling the tables and chairs, was to hearing all this time. When I asked receptionist ( and probably owner or someone VIP in this so called "hotel") to explain me what's going on and how much time I will be forced to listen this and that I have sick wife with me needs to rest, he answered very ignorable - until 22:00! ( you know...house rules). Of courrse, house rules were broken and ignored even after 22:00. After my the second objection, at cca. 22:30 h, he came with me again infront of my room (nr. 2) and said that he does not hear anything - EVEN THAN I AM ON 100 % SURE HE KNEW WHERE IS THE PROBLEM. Yes, on that moment everything for the while, stopped, was possible nothing to hear but I give right to my self to presume that his employees in the kitchen and bar ( noise were comeing probablly from kitchen and bar ) are trained to stop at the moment when someone complains and he (VIP person) go up stairs " to help the customer". He leaved me with the same ignorable and mocking expression on his face. Shame ! Of course, the noise continued until cca. 24 h ...and on the evening on next day again, according the same scenario. I can not say would it be the same at the rooms at opposity side ( at rooms turned to the garden) but definitely for 150 EUR I paid for two nights, I could find better accomodation even on the waiting room benches at Luxemburg Train Station. Issuing the work permission/ licence to someone like people from Il Castello Borghese is equal to inhumanity. That's why - this " so called hotel" is good only for one thing - to avoid it !

Nice, clean hotel away from the city center
Reviewed By worldismybluepointOur family of three stayed here for two nights. Our unit had a bedroom with a double bed, as well as a study with a sofa bed. The beds (even the sofa bed) were comfortable. The hotel is modern and everything was very clean. They have cute, fluffy orange slippers in the rooms and Etro products in the bathroom. Garage is in the basement so parking is convenient. They have great breakfast but they don't have a restaurant onsite and the hotel is a bit removed from the city center so there wasn't much in terms of food options later in the day. The bus stop is not far though and the buses were on time.

Awful!! Never again

Checked in and the lady at the reception was nice, I have booked a single room and went I saw the room I found it small so I decided to check wiry the hotel if possible to get a better room as the hotel was very quiet during those days (COVID TIMES). She checked with the boss and returned to me saying that I should pay 100 euros for the bigger room instead of 80 so I said that no way. After lots of talking by themselves they agreed to offer a bigger room for me an my work colleague for the same price with the additional costs of breakfasts for 80 euros and 16 euros for the breakfasts. I must say the the cost of the breakfasts was really expensive. After checking in my work colleague found the mattress really dirty and we went to complain about it and to my surprise the owner came back again offering another room for 170 euros !!!! What? We do not want another room we just want the room to be clean and never asked for a more expensive room. This guy got really upset about this and said that as a punishment he would change us both to smaller rooms again.....crazy!!!!! Our booking was supposed to be for a week and after 2 days we decided to leave and go to another hotel (better and cheaper). It was horrible experience with this guy!!!! Never again.
