Found this restaurant whilst out searching for lunch, menu and reviews looked good so booked using their website. Was such a surprise to visit as it looks completely different inside. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Menu was good and offered different options including a set menu option. Food did not disappoint and booked again a couple of days later with just as good an experience! Would definitely recommend.

We were lucky to book an early evening table at Gott on a very busy Friday. Attentive, friendly staff, warm, bright restaurant area. The menu layout is slightly different and works well offering "easy to try" dishes with international influences. These are brightly presented on stylish crockery. Spent an extremely pleasant evening with my family in this bustling and welcoming eatery. I ordered the 'Sea Horse', a fixed menu, and every course was faultless. Main man, Robert, is an artist with the ingredients he has combined. The staff are attentive and friendly. I have nothing but good things to say about Forrettabarinn. Highly recommended.

What a cool restaurant!We had a large party that made reservations and we sat down in a cellar-like part of this restaurant. The low lighting, stone walls, and local decor all added to the ambiance of the place. Service was attentive and the food was excellent!We began with fresh bread & Icelandic butter with sea salt and a fresh mackerel amuse-bouche served in a tiny little ceramic pot with a green pea sauce. It was artistic, creative, and delicious. Next up was a cod medallion with a honey glaze, kale, and pea shoots - delicious. The entree was a nice, rolled up plaice fillet and a tender piece of Atlantic perch with broccoli and a wonderful sauce. All of the sauces, seasonings, and presentation were spot-on. Dessert was a delicious white chocolate brownie topped with a sweet pasty crust and creme fraiche ice cream. From the wine choices all the way through dessert, this was an absolutely wonderful meal and I can honestly say - one of the best we had in Iceland!

Staying at the nearby Nordurey hotel, we found this place to be a 5-7 minute walk in the snow. Just enough to get the heart pumping...They have a modest but appealing selection of pastries and breads. The lady at the counter was happy to cut a hole in a large roll and fill it with home made cream of asparagus soup. It was very tasty and warming, too. This was an unusual treat and very affordable as well; a great value. My fife and I enjoyed our visit and would be happy to return.

After struggling to find decent veggie food in Reykjavik, I stumbled across BioBorgari when searching via Google. The menu is small but everything is freshly made and the veggie burger was really moist and full of flavour. Get there early as it's quite a little place so you may not get a table as it's popular with the locals and you can't make a reservation. The owner is friendly and responds quickly to online queries. Will definitely pop back if I visit Reykjavik again.Thanks for the feedback, Cat! It was great to have you and that you loved our veggie burger is a plus, since the veggie patties are made from scratch by us!We have a small cosy restaurant but since we serve "fast food", usually the customer flow moves quickly enough for people to seat by the time their food is ready.
