Ok for a night

Reviewed By Frequentjaunts

An ok night's stay, just a standard pub room set up with a row of rooms out the back. In a side street, although Wallaroo isn't that big. Being Saturday night it was ok for the price but wouldn't be worth it for a weeknight.

Wallaroo Marina Apartments

Our Honeymoon stay.

Reviewed By mrg308

We stayed in one of the rooms on the upper floors, with a great view of the Marina. Our room was at the eastern side of the apartments which meant we escaped the wind blowing directly into our room (western rooms will give you the sunset). The room itself was very clean and the decor was quite nice. Everything worked well, the air-con, the kitchen facility, the TV, also the snack bar had a big variety. The toilet/shower was big, clean and nice to use. We were very happy with our stay and the balcony view was great. Would highly recommend Wallaroo Apartments for your next stay.

Moonta Bay Holiday Park

Beware of the wild weathee

Reviewed By H1215BYmichaelw

Great park and facilities but we were very disappointed by the lack of care offered to us during the severe weather event which occurred last Sunday 29th May. We left Moonta Bay to do some site seeing on Sunday morning - there was no indication that there was any adverse weather about to arrive. When we returned at around 4pm another fellow camper approached us to let us know that they had re-erected our annex for us after a particularly bad wind squall had passed through…they also advised us that they had received a call from the park managers to advise them of this weather event. We received no call at all to warn us. We checked weather reports but could not gain any real insight into whether there was more severe weather expected so we rechecked our annex was secure and decided to stay. We have a camper trailer and we were on a beachfront site….and we had still not received any warnings or contact from park management. The next bout of storms started at about 730pm and we endured 8 hours of cyclonic conditions trying to prevent our camper from being blown into the ocean. We had to enlist help from the local police to be able to leave the park at 430am…no help what so ever was forthcoming from park management. When we returned to the park at approximately 930am on Monday morning to survey the damage and collect our camper we found that our entrance codes had already been deleted. The office staff were all on the phone but eventually let us in. We also had to get them to let us out when we left..once again, everyone was conveniently on the phone. We have not received any communication what so ever from the park managers to check on our well being. Whilst we understand it was our decision to remain at the park on Sunday night we are really perplexed as to why we did not receive any form of warning from park management of the possible extreme weather event, particularly as other campers did. We are from out of state and had not heard any weather warnings. We are also very disappointed that park management has made no attempt to check on our welfare since our departure one week ago.

Great Park Failing!!

Reviewed By ebonyr437

Park with fantastic potential; Great camp kitchen! Amenities barely clean, but is missed on the weekend that we visited. "Part-time manager" Michael Byrnes fails to manage. He is only there part time (week on - week off). Theft is very high compared to the last time we visited (over 12 months ago). It was also confirmed by others who frequent this park that this is often due to the high occupancy of drug abusers that reside long term in the park. This is now drug city in the making as Management has failed to address these matters. Place is a mess; took our kids to the petting zoo, there was hard rubbish everywhere, trailers full of rubbish, broken pallets, old and broken furniture total OH&S hazard! Work safe will have a field trip here! This is a dog friendly park, however, Michael Byrnes's own dogs bark incessantly day and night. The speed limit in the park is 10kph, cars are consistently exceeding the speed limit and not policed, no traffic management in the park (lack of signage). Speeding cars and children don't mix, accident waiting to happen! Park offers free 'Wi-Fi' but its almost non-existent. Only works 20% of the time. This used to be a fantastic park but management have become complacent, it is openly apparent that is a lack of care for patrons/visitors safety.

Great place to unwind with friends

We thought our spot was perfect as we always travel with a dog, We had a powered amenities site which was great having your own personal shower and toilet. We were staying with another 2couples and we were all able to have our vans close to one and other and were able to have our own private fire pit at our vans. When it go to wet and cold the kitchen area made for a perfect place for us too socialize
