While enjoying the diner on T floor, the waiter and waitress seems a bit unfamiliar to the food but overall was in very good service. Food: The dinner was quite nice. It combined Japanese with western. Room: Great space and comfortable bed. Osen: There are lots of places for washing and toilet. Very clean and neat!

Reviewed By Cindy SWw love Su'ao Lakeshore. The staff, especially Jess, is amazing and remembered everything about us from our previous visit. They are all so helpful including Mr. Lin, the housekeeper on the 13th floor, cleaning staff etc. We had a lovely view of the harbor and the mountainside. Breakfast is early until 12.00 which is wonderful as I can sleep in and still make it for breakfast. We will return again when we can

Not many hot springs allow small children, so this hotel is very family friendly. From the water slides to the hot stone floor, we could stay here all day. Breakfast was excellent also. Warning: put aside any diet plan before you head in. The choices are incredible!

Wonderful Experience
Reviewed By andyho28A small hotel but gave us wonderful experience as soon as we arrived. The receptionists are really nice and helpful, they even helped us to cut the fruits we bought from the wet market. Rooms are new and clean, modern design. Toilet is big in double room, but quite small in room with twin (actually big) beds. Hot spring bath tub in room, high quality body wash is provided. Bluetooth speaker, TV, coffee machine available. Snacks and drinks are free in room and at the cafe mini bar, including fruits, biscuits, soft drink, yogurt, tea, coffee, milk, juice..... Close to 2 hot spring parks if you want to try the public foot bath. The only complain is light will come in the room via the toilet windows early in the morning. Not suitable for people who need to sleep in really dark environment. A few new hotels nearby but this one definitely worth for money.

Clean, inconvenient, and fake eco-friendly policies
Reviewed By CanIGoWithYouWe chose the hotel for a brief one-night stay at Yilan because we've had great experience with Lakeshore properties, and that it offered an eco-friendly plan which forgoes all single-use plastic. However, we were very disappointed to find out that the so-called eco-friendly plan is nothing more than greenwash. The room was only stocked with a bath towel for each traveler. I asked the front desk about face or hand towels, but the front desk staff declined providing them, saying that the eco-friendly plan does not include those. The front desk staff also suggested us using the provided facial tissues to wipe our faces and hands. When I pointed the obvious wastefulness, the staff mentioned that they are happy to provide more facial tissues if we ran out, just no face nor hand towels. The hotel also doesn't really seem to care about reducing plastics. Our room was stocked with lots of bottled water, as well as small cans of soda. This is despite that there is a filling station at every floor. At checkout, I mentioned the hypocrisy to the front desk manager. Her thanked me for the suggestion, and asked me if I want to take a few bottled water for the road. Other than the greenwash, the hotel met our needs. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and despite being a family-friendly hotel, it was very quiet in the room (could also due to the lower occupancy). The major downsides are that the property is very far from basically everything (restaurants, train stations, bus terminals, and tourist spots) in Yilan. The Wi-Fi was also unencrypted. I would probably stay again if the need arises, but I would make sure I book a room with enough towels so I don't have to waste two boxes of facial tissues.

Log cabin retreat in the woods
Reviewed By SurreyMashaWe enjoyed our stay here as we liked the log cabin. We had one with 2 rooms and a sitting area. Everything we needed was there and we were able to park outside our cabin. The food was ok but rather canteen like and the service was not that good. Finished with food plates were not cleared away and our table just got more crowded. We were able to take our own beer though.There are a lot of tour groups staying when we went but there was a separate dining area for smaller groups. A western breakfast was advertised but just consisted of toast, rolls, hard boiled eggs and jam. We arrived too late to visit the lake as it closed at 4.30 and in the morning we went on the early divine pines tour. It is an ok place to stay if you want to visit the mingchih park.

Conveniently located in centre of Yilan, has the basics, nothing fancy
Reviewed By seigwailoI have to say this is objectively a decent place. I would not necessarily stay again, because it has nothing special or note worthy but it is objectively OK. Location: It is located in the centre of Yilan so has access to all the local stores, shops, and normal city services. It is also just down the road within biking/driving distance to the hot spring area with the hotels, small pedestrian streets, etc. Amenities: It is quite a big hotel, with many spacious rooms, a big lobby, some parking out front for cars and the usual wifi internet and good TV if needed. They serve an okay buffet breakfast, and they have a shuttle service to the main attraction area of "Jiao Si" (in Taiwanese phonetics, or "Jiao Xi / 礁溪" in Mandarin Chinese) which I mentioned above. The only negative comment I would have is about the general feel and decoration: this is definitely not a place that westerners would come to, it has a very Chinese-like style, with too much detail (sometimes tacky) and the wear and tare of the hotel has started to show in the rooms and decoration. But the toilets were recently revamped and were very modern, clean, and well kept as far as I could tell. Service/Staff: All is well in Taiwan, and this was no exception, staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. Nothing I can say more.

VILLA LOHERB is with great location that only 3 KM to DongShang River Park, 4.8KM to Ecoark and 6.6 KM to LuoDong Train Station. There are free bicycles available for ride into the rice fields and to the areas nearby. You can enjoy walking, biking, eating and staying like local people do is one of the best ways to experience the essence of Taiwan. VILLA LOHERB also runs a restaurant which serves café, afternoon tea and steak dishes with local ingredient from Yilan along with mountain views outside. If weather permits, diners can have their meals outdoors in a garden setting. This is a great place to stay for holding conferences, celebrating events, or simply spending a few relaxing days in this pretty environment. Furthermore, the landscape changes by seasons, welcome to come here again and again.

Reviewed By gnutechNot worth it. There hotel is nice and kind of new (2015), but got the price it has several shortcomings: no TV but projector, which is barely visible during daytime or with lights on, we had only 1 toilet paper roll and no hot water in the morning.

Relax and enjoy nature environment
Reviewed By JchuenThis is the third time I stay in Cilan Resart, I took 3 days 2 night trip evey time when I went to Tipingshan National Park. One night in Ming Chi resort and one night here. It is a good place to enjoy nature, hiking, biking, walk around mountain, enjoy natural hot spring in the evening. My kids are so exited to see a bunch of baby monkeys jumping between trees. It is good for a three star hotel, friendly staff. Strongly advise to stay 3 days 2 night with Ming Chi together. Definitely will come back again.
