The most amazing food!
Reviewed By Sandie OWe stayed at Chateau Boisniard as part of a birthday treat for my sister in law which included a couple of days at the Puy du Fou. From our very first experience of driving up to the hotel, to the time we left, we were so impressed with the hotel. The comfort of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the dinner! Wow! We all said it was the best food we had ever eaten. The head waiter was attentive without being intrustive, he explained every dish to us and what started out as as a three course dinner ended up being 8 courses with all the lovely little extras that kept arriving. The outdoor heated pool was fabulous, there are birds and animals all around the grounds - we just wish we could have stayed longer! Also, they gave us a priority car park ticket for the Puy du Fou, which was a lovely gesture and we really appreciated it. So all in all, a fantastic hotel and one which we will definitely be going back to.

Reviewed By NikkiKociWe had a great stay and really enjoyed the location and the hospitality. We booked three nights with a terrace which was super nice so we stayed two more nights and as the only room left had no terrace we got to try that too. The room with terrace is much nicer but the price compensation more than balanced that. It was very hot out during out visit and ad there is no AC would have been happy with open windows as there was a nice breeze at night but the few visiting mosquitos made it difficult and thought mosquito screens would be a nice upgrade. Every morning before breakfast we took the bikes to the beautiful nearby beach for walk/ workout/ swim- fantastic! Being 7 month pregnant and with my challenging diabetes diet and the table service due to covid 19buffet restrictions they really went above to accommodate me. We easily biked to lunch/dinner and downtown, finding the location ideal between the beach and town. Clean, really helpful in planning our visit and great options like a hot tub, sauna, indoor and outdoor heated pools. We had such a nice visit to Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile! Hope to be back again!

Beach just across the road and restaurants within easy reach. Parking was fine too (late Sept/early Oct. Regarding Covid precautions - very well managed.

Reviewed By nicolettaw761No welcome, no help with the luggage, no direct parking. It was also not possible to have 2 rooms on the same floor with kids. The pool is old and in the middle of the restaurant and reception. The spa has to be booked in advance and is not allowed for kids. The room service takes forever and when we ordered a fruit platter: got first hole fruits and than one out of a tin. The hotel could be cleaner. The terraces where dirty and nothing comfortable there. The breakfast has nothing gluten-free, vegan milk ect. Not a 4 star at all. The only beautiful thing is the view.

Warning: don't leave your car on the park place near the Arundel Tower on Saturday night because of the market on Sunday morning.

Reviewed By franco-americaineWe thoroughly enjoyed our five-day stay at this hotel. The property is well maintained, with a convenient parking. Bikes are available for rental. The pool is heated off season, but still refreshing. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the sun or shade. And, importantly, the area is quiet and zen. Our studio was comfortable and quiet and stayed relatively cool during hot weather. It had a small but well equipped kitchenette and a lovely private terrace. To our pleasant surprise, the hotel offers a morning bakery delivery service, and the bread and pastries were very good and reasonably priced. This made breakfast and lunch easy. We had the hotel breakfast once in their lovely indoor/outdoor room. It was very good, with a variety of offerings, including excellent homemade cakes and cookies. We particularly liked the French toast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is a hotel we’d surely return to, if in Noirmoutier. Highly recommended!

It’s a new hotel, nicely furnished with Kartell furniture, Nuxe bathroom products, Nespresso machine, and more. The hotel staff is extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. There is ample free parking available. We really enjoyed our stay and truly recommend this hotel ?

Reviewed By Clarence116We have just enjoyed a few days stay at this fabulous small hotel in La Tranche. The location of the hotel is excellent, with great onsite complimentary parking which is such a bonus in this lovely seaside town. Just a short walk to the Restaurants and cafes and right on the beach front, couldn’t be better. Although we didn’t use it, the indoor pool and spa looked very nice and our 1st floor bedroom was extremely comfortable and very importantly to us, lovely and quiet. But what stood out to us more than anything about this lovely hotel, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff which started with the warm welcome on arrival. The ladies on the front desk were also so helpful in assisting us with our “return to the UK” documentation / COVID tests etc, a real life saver for us! We are really looking forward to returning to the Hotel Les Dunes again soon and would highly recommend you give it a try if travelling to this delightful area.

Well situated hotel- an easy fifteen minute drive on good roads to Puy du Fou
Reviewed By caroline bAnother hotel on our 3* Logis tour - sited just off the N160 [the road up to the windmills] on the outskirts of Les Herbiers [a boring rather industrial sort of town not inspiring! dont waste your time there] The hotel was really well managed with extremely helpful staff. They printed off a copy of the shows for the following day at Puy du Fou and even wrote a suggested order of times to see as many of them as possible in a day . The hotel stands in its own spacious grounds with large car parking area. In summer the pool is set in a nice sheltered part of the garden and beyond there are tennis courts. There is a small gym in the hotel. They cater for families and there is a table in the foyer for children to play at. Our room was compact but very nicely refurbished on the first floor with a view over the garden, air conditioning had been added. [a double chambre superieure at 88 euro.]The large bed was extremely comfortable and there were nice little extras in the room. There appears to be four different prices for four seasons and four grades of room. Generally the soundproofing was quite good, some noise from people in the corridor, really didnt hear any road noise Good standard of bedding, towels etc. Unfortunately no safe or fridge in the room which was a minus. Note if you are going to Puy du Fou and going to be back late make sure you take that day's key pad number as the hotel is accessed by three electronic gates that are closed after 10pm - I always put the number up on my sunvisor in the car so as not to have a panic late at night. Once back in the car park the hotel night entrance is at the side of the hotel again using the key pad. It is easy to exit the hotel via the main gate exits onto the D160 [it is a dual carrigeway so you have to turn right, go down to the roundabout and retrace your route towards Puy du Fou up the hill past the windmills]. When returning from Puy du Fou the via same route there is a slip road on the N160 back into the hotel via the other gate. If you come from the town side you have to weave your way down several side roads - tricky at night when it is dark to see the hotel signs. It does make the hotel very secure which as we had a car full was very reassuring. The food was excellent - breakfast, as all logis a little pricey, [10 .50euro ] included home made cake, pancakes as well as the usual logis offering of continental including croissants, cold meats, cereals, fruit etc. Boil your own eggs! Breakfast is completely self service. Dinner in the Orchidee restaurant was a treat - gifted chef - a lot of fish on the menu and some fancy dishes well presented. There is a specials board and we had the set Puy du Fou menu, 3 courses at 20 .50 euro - really good value. They encourage children to try small portions from the adult menu [9 euro] not sure how well that would work if you have fussy eater. The children we saw were tucking in with gusto! On cinescene show nights the hotel offers an earlier start time for dinner. As a carnivore my husband felt there was not enough red meat on the menu to his liking! Overall we thought it a great place to stay to see the show and would definitely stay there again.

White Robes Dominate!
Reviewed By CaptainRNWe booked via the Brittany Ferry tour of French Atlantic Islands and were thus B&B. Seeing the slightly isolated location (for the time of year) we asked to dine and fortunately there was space. Room comfortable but reached by what semed to be a single small lift which seemed to be hijacked by white Robed persons on the way to and from the basement spar. We enjoyed our dinner but found the breakfast rather a scrum. Very satisfactory for a one night stop-over but you would need to be a spar fanatic to want to base your holiday here. Good safe parking.
