Hoyohoy Villas is a boutique resort with a unique design and architecture. It is a rice granary inspired where elegance of the past and the comfort of the present is combined to create a cool, and as indulging and relaxing atmosphere. The villas are made of thatched roof and stand of stilts.
So Much Wasted Potential
Reviewed By montyj395Pros: Attentive and courteous staff. Villas are very rustic, and well decorated. Outdoor showers are a unique touch. The lounge areas under the villas make for a nice space to chill and enjoy a cold beer. Cons: Swimming pool is a stagnant cesspool that I would dare not dip my toes in. Air conditioning is not enough to cool the villas with the high, vaulted ceilings. In fact, we had to switch villas on our last night as the AC broke. We still needed a fan, which the resort provided, as a secondary source of cooling. The beach, while it looks amazing as far as sunrises go, it is not groomed at all, and useless for swimming. In fact, when returning to shore from island hopping, we had to walk into the beach during low tide. Our shoes got stuck in. a grey foul smelling muck off shore. I could not tell what it was, and I probably don't want to know what it was. Overall, this resort resembles paradise, but due to a lack of attention to the pool, beach, and air conditioning, it's a poor facsimile of what it could be. I'm not sure what can be done for the muck off shore, except perhaps the island needs better infrastructure for sewage treatment.

Reviewed By LaurenKGJust finished a week at the Manora, it was absolutely lovely. For anyone considering this rental, a few things you should understand: - this is not in downtown Cebu but Talisay, so you'll need to arrange transportation to get to Cebu from this complex (we had no problems getting a cab from the Manora, which the security guard hailed for us) - the apartments are on a private street (gated community) which is quite safe (Santa Theresa Village 3 Extension), outside the community however you do need to be somewhat cautious, but we experienced no problems - this is essentially an apartment rental with breakfast & housecleaning included, so don't expect a 5 star resort If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay near Cebu with friendly staff, incredible views and (an amazing) home-cooked breakfast included, this is it. The price is excellent and the property beautiful...will definitely stay here again if I return to Cebu.

No tiene jardin. la situación està en una urbanización con vigilancia privada y està muy lejos del pueblo (a 4 Km).

Bathroom faucet is loose and the shower curtains have not been washed so water splashes have turned into molds. They only have 12 rooms (apparently, just to comply with government regulations to be able to have a Casino - there should be a hotel" The staff are very courteous. The Lobby (ground) is not kept smells like sweat!

Reviewed By 228barthFirst of all, the contact details are incorrect: I wanted to call the place for a shuttle: the phone number directs you to a non-existing Australian number.. our plane had a delay, I couldn't call or message the hotel for new arrival time. So we arrived late without a shuttle being there for us. Took a taxi, the taxi driver entered the name of the hostel in the GPS: it took us to the most dangerous streets of Cebu! Even the taxi driver got scared and didn't want to continue. Drug addicts, homeless children everywhere. Luckily our taxi driver was willing to take us far away, it was around midnight, and luckily there was a room available in another hotel; we are near NYE, so it could be worse. 1 full day later we got a message, without any apologies for the hostel. At least they cancelled our stay without any costs.

Worst Hotel in Talisay Cebu Area
Reviewed By sires9094Called hotel, part of RedDoorz chain, to inquire about a room more than a week before I planned to be there with friends. Friends had reserved 6 rooms and since one of the group cancelled their trip I would have had their room. Upon arrival all hotel had reserved was 5 rooms instead of 6 so I had to get on line to reserve the other room. Quoted a price almost double of what everyone else was paying. Of course my room was on the 3rd floor and no elevator. Got to the room and it was a mess. No phone so I had to walk back down stairs to tell them room needed to be cleaned up. Later went to room and basically nothing was done except the bed was made, no towels, toilet paper looked like someone pissed on the roll, dirt on wall in bath room, dirty bathroom floor and water on floor. One outlet on wall for charger. Sign at front desk says if you do not get a cyber receipt your stay is free - no receipt and you can not get in touch with RedDoorz.com I have posted some pics of the bed that sank in the middle. Went out that evening and asked to have the room made up the next morning. When I returned that night nothing was done. WIFI only works in the lobby. I was asked how I wanted my eggs for breakfast and after eating they gave me a bill for something I thought was included in reservation. Others complained about dogs next door barking all night and roosters crowing near my room. I will never stay there ever and the group I was with all said the same thing. What a dump.
