I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was quite and clean. It was close to Hwy 4 to get back to Dayton Airport. No Evan’s was close by although I ate at the hotel. There’s a Kroger’s near by. We’ll plan on staying again in the future.

Very Good not excellent hotel

I would definitely recommend staying here. Room was excellent! Jennifer and the night maintenance guy were so friendly and helpful. It helped our visit start off on a good note. Night staff was excellent. Morning front desk, Julia, was mediocre at best. I came down to check out around 10. The cooler with yogurt and breakfast sandwiches was locked. It would’ve taken her 30 seconds max to unlock but she smuggly informed me breakfast ended at 9. Since I have to heat up my own meal anyways and it’s a benefit of staying here I’m not sure what harm it would’ve done giving me a breakfast sandwich, and maybe not acting so bothered by me asking. Overall it was a clean and nice hotel. Booking.com rated it “very good” and that is accurate.

A Really Good Stay

Reviewed By GalileoSmith

We go to Springfield Ohio once a year around Christmas. We don't mind spending a little money on accommodations. We generally stay at the Springfield Hampton but it is temporary closed. We opted for the Courtyard and glad we did. It looks newly refurbished. Everything looks pretty new. They have a pool and a fitness center. All nice and clean. Check-in was simple. My only negative observation is that it said that due to the pandemic, the staff would be wearing masks. Apparently no one told the staff. Nevertheless, when the Hampton reopens next year, we might select the Courtyard.

Good breakfast, sketchy area early mornings.

Reviewed By Linda6463

We needed to stay in the Springfield area for a family death. Arrived very late so didn't notice until the next morning we didn't have a shower curtain. A few days later we noticed no glass plate in the microwave. Other issues were no full housekeeping during our 4 night stay (just towels replaced twice). Sketchy parking lot early mornings and unauthorized parking in handicapped spots (which we were told they couldn't do anything about). My husband is handicapped and luckily we were able to find a spot when necessary. Also pool not working for months now. Positives were good breakfast choices, friendly staff, close to highway.

As our guest, you will enjoy a warm reception, the best amenities we can offer, a hearty breakfast, and the beauty of our gardens.

Some BIG positives, but some areas need work.

Reviewed By wemjam

Recently stayed at Emma's Bed and Breakfast. I struggled with writing this review as I have such mixed feelings about my stay. I will try to be as fair, frank, and detailed as possible with this extensive review. The owner / operator of this B&B is a most amazing man. He is warm and welcoming, and you feel like family the moment you step in the door. The home is overall amazing and beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, and you can tell the amount of restoration that has gone in the to the building is quite an accomplishment. Our stay was in the two room Sydney Suite. The suite itself was huge. Two large rooms (each with a large fireplace), as well as a private bathroom and private side porch with swing (which was amazing in the morning with a cup of coffee). One room was the main bedroom with a King size bed, the other was a living room area with another bed tucked into one corner. A small fridge and microwave were there as well which was a nice touch and provided us with storage to keep our beverages cold. The space was amazing, and the overall cleanliness of the room was very well kept with a few exceptions. The curtains could have used an updating (or good cleaning), as well as blinds, etc. There were two entrances to the room one right off the kitchen and then another at the other end of the rooms by the front door/foot of the stairs leading up to the other rooms. Voices were easy to hear from both doors in these busy areas, but the other guests we stayed with did try to be very courteous and for us there were no real issues with this. The bathroom could use an updating (wallpaper starting to peel, large stained/damaged area on the ceiling, and the shower had seen better days). The shower door had been removed and a shower curtain was jury rigged to fit the opening. The shower was tight and reminded me of showering in our RV. The space in the bathroom itself would have accommodated a larger shower/bathtub installation (if an unneeded cupboard was removed) and hopefully, the renovation of this bathroom is on the "to do" list, it would certainly enhance the room greatly. The bed was mostly comfortable, and we slept OK. I did note that the bedding throughout the room was well used and perhaps this could be updated as well. There were quilts on the one extra bed (again keeping with the overall look of the place) and a comforter set on the main king bed. All were in good repair, just very dated and well used including showing a few stains. One critical note though, the wooden slat blinds on the windows did present an issue. There is some kind of very bright (like streetlight bright) light outside the king bedroom window on the left side of the bed (if standing at the foot of the bed looking at the headboard). No matter what we did to try to mitigate the light coming in the window it still shown in through the slats and side of the blinds right onto the one side of the head of the bed (and thus right into my husband's face all night). Some other form of window treatment would be much better. One other issue for us with our room is there was no comfortable way to watch television in the evenings. There was a new TV with lots of options for watching which was a nice bonus, but you simply could not enjoy it. There was a large couch, but it faced the fireplace, and the TV was off to the side. The couch itself was not at all comfortable to sit on (tufted red leather very hard) and trying to see the TV off at your side was very difficult. There were a few wood side chairs but only one was set to face the TV. We moved a couple of the wood chairs around to face the TV, but they were not comfortable for sitting for any length of time. The furnishings were in keeping with the overall aesthetics of the home, but for comfort reasons I would suggest considering something that looks right but would be more comfortable for sitting to enjoy TV in the evening (perhaps some wing back chairs or padded sofa) and facing the TV. Additionally the TV was in a TV stand and it was far to low to be good for viewing as well. Hiding the TV behind doors is a nice touch, but really it would have been better sitting out on top of a nice side table. This would have made it easier to view as well. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. The owner had let us know that he had recently lost his normal person that prepared the food and was having difficulty finding a replacement, and he was "filling in." He really did try very hard to make it as nice as possible, and it wasn't bad, it just wasn't the best either. I thought about eating out after the first day for this reason, but decided not to and just stayed for breakfast. The friendly conversation with other guests and the owner at the breakfast table was welcome each day. We enjoyed meeting and conversing with the other guests and everyone was so friendly and we had great interactions throughout our stay with everyone. My overall "feel" of the place was very mixed. There were beautiful aspects of it and the welcoming owner was amazing, but also it felt a bit like trying to stay (and get comfortable) in a museum with the furnishings and overwhelming amount of decorations and Tchotchkes in all areas of the house including the rooms themselves. Much of it was placed to reflect the historic nature of the home but a little more thought about comfort for guests would be nice. Many parts of the home were renovated, but then other parts really needed some attention (we also noted an overwhelming musty smell to our room and the house in general). Breakfast being a let down, which is part of the premium you are paying for, also bothered me. Overall considering value for money and what our personal experience was, I am not sure I would stay here again. We would love to stay again sometime in the future if some of these issues are potentially addressed (room comfort, updating and breakfast improvement) but not under the current status quo.

The next day I got up and found out that I was charged $ 141.00 for this room. I called the hotel and they were no help. I called Motel 6 and they tried to call the hotel but the hotel said they were too busy to talk to motel 6 corporate. The next day I called and called - The owner / manager would never call me back, even thought he was suppose to to respond to my complaint. Finally he gave me about $70.90 back. I was owed $77.00 and some change I called the hotel and finally got ahold of the hotel owner /GM and he almost immediately blamed me and hung up on me. ( HUNG UP ON ME- SERIOUSLY ) I wasn't arguing or anything. I was trying to explain what was going on. He refused to give me a refund. I filed a dispute with my credit card. At this point I am to the belief that I am being intentionally ripped off. I will never stay at this hotel again or any other Motel 6
